{{Anne}} I hope that the good more than soothes the tough emotions. Peaceful rest wishes.
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Thank you, Laura. The draining has to do with the nice little double-whammy that I don't feel I have the right (in general) to speak up, complain, protest, rock the boat, etc. So I spoke up about that after Mom unintentionally shut me down when I needed to vent, and that triggered guilt about speaking up. Argh.
Retro-active~ma for Drew.
Job~ma for Jilli. It just really sucks that you need it again so soon.
Anne, I wish there were magic words that would make those kinds of guilt just evaporate. But since there aren't, the best I can do is wish that the guilt is soon replaced by a sense of pride in the accomplishment of having spoken up for yourself, even though it goes against your conditioning. You do deserve peopled to speak up for you, even if you have to be the one to do it.
Y'all, I e-mailed with Jilli, and there's no reason she can't have alcohol on a *very* occasional basis. The drug that told her she shouldn't have alcohol with it *does* lose its effectiveness when the patient is a chronic alcohol drinker. But one drink, very once in a while, won't do anything other than make her loopy.
So I hope she's having that absinthe now, or on her way to having it.
That is possibly the most Buffista piece of advice ever given.

Truly. Specialized expertise, I'd like you to meet a highly particular need.
Well, it's worth remembering that warnings on prescriptions are put there to err on the side of caution. This particular drug really *does* have an alcohol-related potential problem, but it's for chronic alcohol consumption, not for one drink on one occasion. However, try putting that on a drug label.
I understand erring on the side of caution, and I even tend to agree with it in many cases.
However, *I* am here for the rest of those cases.
Tep, I really love you right now.

On which note, thanks for the Cymbalta info. I've passed it along.
And OH MY GOD, you have no idea how happy I am to have gotten that advice from Teppy. As soon as the Infamous BlueJay turns up for vampire TV time, I am having absinthe.
