Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

I've been using the library much less since I got my Kindle. Not because the selection is better, but because browsing the library website means I can reserve a book to pick up later and browsing on the Kindle means I can have the book NOW. It's such a terrible waste of money but I can't stop myself!

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

Happy birthday, P-C!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

I have been downloading a lot of classics on the kindle for $1 or free. $9.99 for newer books has mostly kept me from downloading them. A couple dollars less and I would probably be downloading a ton of them.

ION: licorice, as any anise related products, is the devil's work. But apparently it really helps to get you to get on your feet in tea with cinnamon (though I held my breath in order to drink that poison).

sj, most of the books I download are between $3 and $7, which is why I find it so hard to resist.

There's a debate about anise's evilness and the way it evils people? Huh.

Can I ask for examples?

I hate licorice too, and I don't think I could ever drink that.

The debate is love versus hate. I love it, but I know I'm in the minority.

sj, most anything that is in paperback and not newly out.

I thought so too. But I was willing to do a lot of things in order to get up from the couch, and I had nastier remedies in the past - ones where it doesn't help if you hold your breath or not. At least in tea it's 90% smell, so you can control it a little bit.
