I've somehow lost three spoons out of my drawer. I can only think that I must have tossed them out with the garbage several months ago. Damnit.
I've had Progressive insurance since 2005, and they just dropped my bill by a lot for my renewal this month. As in, my monthly payment went from $135 to $105, and if I can come up with the full six months in a lump sum payment, I'll only be paying $520.
I still don't know if you guys are using the term "spoon" metaphorically or not.
Hmm, I wonder if Progressive would give me a better rate than Geico. My insurance is doubling with the move to NOLA.
Nora, I hope so. Just feeling sentimental because I had no idea when I started on the carpentry thing that it would end up being so rewarding. And Marshall is just a super sweet guy.
Pronouns gone.
Did you get rid of them on Craigslist?
Ha! No, I just misplaced them in the chaos. Found them this morning under a stack of papers to be filed.
So, the socializing was good. I got to say goodbye to my dance community as a whole, and some other friends came by, and I did get kind of teary at one point. My friend's mom, who's also a dancer, and who I kind of helped start her own studio, told me she loved me. They are just such a great family.
I slept well last night, but now I'm super gronkified, and can't figure out how to get my modem working again, so I'm typing all this on my iPhone.

It never hurts to call and dicker. Make sure you have your exact current coverage available to look at when you call, so they can give you an accurate quote. And definitely tell them you're calling specifically to compare because your rates are about to double due to a move.
smonster, I'm so excited for you! This snowball is rolling!
I didn't have any classes today -- finals week, 2 days of school left and all finals today were my graduated senior class or my plans, so I took the day off to work on some car stuff I got hit with yesterday.
It's all being taken care off (I forgot to pay a ticket, and my registration was suspended when I went in to renew my tags yesterday.) The kicker is that while the paperwork in process of getting to me and the DMV, I'll be skulking about with a quasi-suspended license and just-expired tags. Looks like I'll be driving D's car everywhere but work for the next 5 days.
Bleargh.
On the upside, I feel a lot better than yesterday.
I'm glad I park off-street and work is only 5 minutes away.
Our chopsticks are in with the wooden spoons and such so that I am constantly pulling out pairs that don't match. But I use them for everything from stirring sauces to balancing the coffee filer on top of a measuring cup because I still haven't bothered to buy a carafe. The good chopsticks are up on the bookshelf with Wall-e and Optimus Prime.
Liese: don't forget to put the sugar in the thing.
I went swimming at a lake today, which wasn't as fun as I thought it would be. There were dead fish along the edge of the water, and a school had taken all their second and third graders there, so there were children screaming, which wasn't exactly the calm lakeside day I was imagining.
That's why I prefer pool swimming. Too much sand and seaweed in a lake. Although ocean swimming does have the added thrill of waves. I hope when I go down to Florida for my brother's wedding that we can take a little time to head over to Honeymoon Island, just around the corner from where we'll be staying for the weekend.
I think if you want peace and quiet on a public lake you need a boat. And even then you sometimes have to move.
We're having a bad thunder storm and tornado warnings and it is the hour TCG commutes home. Do not like.
