Heh. Happy progress in the laptop incident. Got an email from my US Director in response to my letter:
I knew nothing about this situation or the "senior admin" decision. I think it's an issue to be taken up with [jerky head of business dept].
This is very good news. The business guy has a ton of power and this may not matter in the long run, but it means that he acted on his own and then claimed the senior admin team made the decision when they did not even know about the situation. That means I will have advocates.
Argh. eHarmony kept matching me with people in Philadelphia and Pittsburgh, which are both about three hours away, and trying to meet guys who live out there hasn't really worked, so I reset my preferences to say that I prefer people who live within 60 miles of me, and now the site is just giving me a whole ton of guys who spend their entire profile talking about how much they like hunting. There have to be guys living around here who aren't hunters.
That's good, Pix. Advocates are good, esp advocates in senior administration.
Hil - I have a friend living in rural Wisconsin who had a similar problem with eHarmony. . .no actual solve for that problem unfortunately.
There have to be guys living around here who aren't hunters.
In Central Pennsylvania? Don't bet on it.
Possibly you need to find somebody who hunts but doesn't have it be the only thing in their profile.
Passed the towards-MLS interview with flying colors. Yet, kindda freaking out about making the next step.
Yay Shir! You will rock it all, I have no doubt.
Hil, have you tried OK Cupid? It has its ups and downs, but I think it has a different population than eHarmony, generally.
Pix, glad to hear it, and best of luck.
Finally got back to sleep for a bit, but I have a low-grade migraine that just won't quit. Sis has helped me get everything out of the attic, washed all my dirty dishes, and taken pictures of everything I'm selling on Craigslist. Soon I go get amyth and we go shopping for a suit. Oy.
Huh. I've posted four things on Craigslist, using two different email addresses, and none of the confirmation emails have come through, not even in spam. Aren't they usually pretty immediate?
Go Shir!
I have a headache and period cramps and one million things to do.
Including this background check. Background checks suck. I realize it's not like they're going to turn up my sordid background or anything, but I hate giving out all this info. Plus, I don't remember all my previous addresses or what dates I lived there. Thank goodness for lj archives, I guess.
Thanks again for all the Mom~ma for D. The last I heard it may have been a mild heart attack. D and his brother drove up to be with her last night. They should be getting there any minute.
