Can I just say (as I leaf through a folder I haven't cracked in ten years that contains scads of my writing going back to jr high) thank DOG there was no internet when I was in high school.
oh no oh no oh no. I just found vampire fic. It is sooo weird reading horrible fiction that I know is mine but don't remember writing. I'm laughing and sweating and my eyes are watering. It's horrible and enjoyable at the same time like (I imagine) a deep tissue massage.
eta on a non-related note, Steph! I read Peeps and it was awesome! I was actually laughing as I finished it. I can see why it was right up your alley, too.
Right? Because --
THE CAT,
what the hell?!? That was awesome.
Congratulations, Seska and The Girl!
smonster -- read The Last Days, too. It's sort of a sequel. Kind of. More like a sideways-quel.
Also, I unreservedly adore the Midnighters trilogy. All the Ada Lovelace references alone rock my socks, but the whole thing is pretty cool. And creepy.
Happiness and joy to you and the Girl, Seska!
Congratulations Seska & Girl!
A long lifetime of happiness to Seska & The Girl.
congratulations to Seska and the Girl
On the subject of heaven, The Girl just turned to me and went: "What's all this about the rapture? When's that happening? I hear it might be next week." And is now adding up how many days we'll get to be married if that particular prophecy is true.
Thank you SO much for all the lovely congrats! You are all absolutely wonderful :) I am exhausted after last night's family dinner, but we got through it fine. It was surreal, but not at all bad. Our parents did not hate each other. No one freaked out at the amount of sign language my dad and his partner use. The friends we invited were happy to entertain themselves. I ate chocolate.
Now we have today. I'm half excited, half terrified. Mainly of rain. It is currently sunny, but showers are forecast. The forecast will be WRONG! Much Buffista anti-rain~ma has decreed it so! I hope I still fit into my dress. I hope the brewing migraine goes away. I hope I can remember the Hebrew ring vows. OK.
Seska, I looked up wedding blessings, and I found this one that fits my wish for you and The Girl:
Now for you there is no rain, for one is shelter to the other.
Now for you the sun shall not burn, for one is shelter to the other.
Now for you nothing is hard or bad, for the hardness and badness is taken by one for the other.
Now for you there is no night, for one is light to the other,
Now for you the snow has ended always, for one is protection for the other.
It is that way, from now on, from now on. And now there is comfort.
Now there is no loneliness. Now forever, forever, there is no loneliness.
--Salish marriage blessing
Especially the bit about the rain today.
