I talked to eHarmony guy on the phone last night, and that went pretty well. We talked for almost an hour, and we seem to be connecting.
(This is eHarmony guy that I met through my own account that I set up several months ago, not anything through my mom's ridiculousness. I have not told my mom that I'm on eHarmony, because, well, she'd get even more ridiculous, and I know better than to encourage that. My mother gets to hear about guys I'm dating only if I think it'll last at least a few months. She still asks, "Have you heard from Scott lately?" about a guy that I mentioned to her once, six years ago.)
Sounds cool, Hil. I never mention people I'm dating to my parents. I figure until it's serious enough that we'd move in or go home together for the holidays, it's not worth the drama.
My sister has just told me that she has only had one boyfriend, so why do the parents look to her first for marriage? Uh, because of the guys you monogamously for extended periods of time, and I have never brought a guy home?
The one boyfriend ever thing is my schtick, not hers.
I'm listening to her colleague's sex radio show. They're talking about polyamory. I've been wondering if it's going to all go off the rails, but no, it's very straightforward so far. Time for people to call in, or something.

Seriously. My brother would bring home random girlfriends until we found the one we kept. My sister ... well, the less said the better. Me? If I bring someone home, I know it reflects on me. I prefer to leave them guessing if I am not at cohabitation stage.
Thank you! I was driving myself batty trying to figure out that one!
Mark is watching it now!
She was telling a story about an experience she had at the movies (the theme of the night) and she was talking about how she dressed up for The Last Airbender, (and then walked out halfway through the movie) because of her love of A:TLA. She said, "Joseph Gordon-Levitt!" in a disappointed voice when he admitted that he had never heard of the cartoon. It was cute. She was really funny. He called her back onstage later because he liked her style, and asked her to read a Tiny Story.
Ha, that's adorable! He sounds delightful.
Worth noting that she dressed as Prince Zukko. She would have made a great Toph, too.
I'm on my way to Merlefest (bluegrass fest in mtns) with my folks! My aunt and uncle will be there, too, and possibly some fellow recyclers. amyth, I thought of the best thing ever - my conservative, gun-loving uncle in a political debate with Corby.
I lurves him.
He is, sigh, my favorite.
Which fellow recyclers. smonster? JMax? KBP and her DH? If Jmax, score me some moonshine, or...whatever. If KBP, pls give her the biggest hug in the world for me.
Re: your uncle: Corb does love his guns, and he does love to argue. Can't say it won't be interesting. Wish I was going!
Here's video of a large portion of the audience singing last night: [link]
amyth, JRice and maybe PP/KBP. Didn't I send you an email? Jmax's dad is having open heart surgery, so they're all in Raeford right now.
