Nonian, I`ve done that! The only one worse is putting on your glasses to look for your glasses. But I don`t do that one since I`m so blind that if I can see to make it out of the room, I must have them on.

I once looked for my glasses, only to slowly realize that there was a very good reason that I could see so well while I was looking... so, yeah, BRANEFAIL.

Question about lady-parts stuff: I've got an appointment with a gynecologist this week. If my period is even remotely on schedule, I'm going to be getting my period that day. Can I still have the checkup and pap smear and everything, or am I supposed to change the appointment?

Hil, i've had appts during but only for emergency situations or where that is the problem. Plus, things are more likely to hurt right about then. Might be best to reschedule if you can.

Happy easter folks! I'm not even vaguely christian anymore but i love the old Eoster traditions like decorating and hiding eggs. Love seeing all the pics of kids decorating eggs. so much love and joy.

sadly, no one brought treats to work. But that's ok, cuz i have fruit and candy with me (just in case) and just set up a family disturbance where the assault weapon of choice was a pint of strawberries. No, really, asslt by strawberries. I bet it looked worse than it felt.

And just bought new glasses! 2 new full sets with anti glare coating plus shipping for under $40. I do love Zenni optical. I kinda hate my current pair of silver wire frames. I thought they'd look invisible, but instead they make me look exhausted. Decided to go back to classis black wire half-rims AND some funky chunky black and burgundy frames. When they're less than $10, i feel like i can splurge and try something entirely new and unexpected.

I want my next pair of glasses to be the weightless kind that some of my friends have. They are seriously awesome.

Question for steph or others w/ pharma-know : i still have leftover "neomycin and polymyxin B sulfates and dexametasone opthalimic suspension" drops from my last bout of pink eye. Don't expire for several more months. I know the instructions insert says not to reuse for a later infection and to throw out leftever drops...but i didn't. And have another infection that looks and feels exactly the same as what they were prescribed for.

I get CYA. Is there any other reason i shouldn't re-use drops for the same condition? I totally take all responsibility if anything goes wrong. Symptoms started on Saturday and the soonest i can get to a Dr is Thursday and that's a long time to suffer when i have treatment in my bedroom closet....

The real thing there would be that it might make it difficult for the doctor to figure out the problem, if/when you finally go. That said, I know lots of parents re-use for kids. And I'd suggest you call your doctor's office--they might say "go ahead, use it" or send you a new scrip.

I'll try calling tomorrow before work. The annoying thing is that i had to go to an opthamologist for the rx and need a referral from my pcp thanks to insurance...which makes it TWO appts to schedule when i'm working 12 hr shifts every day till Thursday. I could theoretically call in sick for a few hours but losing even one person on phones right now is gonna make a crappy situation at work even crappier for everyone else. But yeah, i can see how if i treat for a few days and *then* go in there might no longer be evidence of an infection.

Hil, wait and see if you start that day. Then you can call your gyno and say "I'm irregular, and my period started today. Can I reschedule?"

I think gynos prefer not to do paps and exams because it fucks up the culture.
