Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Trader Joe's was out of the awesome gluten-free snickerdoodles. Zounds!

Ooh, I had no idea they had these!

They are *really* good. They're soft-baked, not crunchy.

The only thing I wonder is the whole "go gluten free and it'll help your migraines/fatigue!"

It sure doesn't help my migraines. But my innards feel much better.

All that said, it's still a pain, especially eating at a party -- we went to a birthday party last weekend for Tim's great-nephew, and the parents just ordered a bunch of pizzas. Excellent idea, and everyone was thrilled. But my only option was some anemic salad and potato chips. But I'm getting used to eating before I go anywhere.

Amusingly, one of the kink groups in the area is run by 2 women who can't have gluten, so I always know the parties will have a good selection of gluten-free snacky food.

My main problem has been breakfasts--even when I'm home, I don't like to take time to make eggs or something, and when I'm on the road, unless the hotel has a buffet (which does sometimes happen, and is good), a quick breakfast involves Starbucks and a scone or something. I think it'll be somewhat easier in the summertime when I'm eating more fruits and veggies and craving comfort food pasta and stuff less

That man was going to shank me. Over an omelette. Two eggs and a slice of government cheese. Is that what my life is worth?

don't like to take time to make eggs or something

I highly recommend Hungry Girl's egg mug recipes. Egg substitute in the microwave in under 5 minutes. And she has a ton of recipes.

If that's too long, I make fritattas early in the week and reheat in the microwave in the mornings. Works really well.

I did that for a few weeks (randomly, before the gluten-free plan) and it works when I'm home for a few days in a row. I will check out the egg mug recipes!

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I can't remember where the bondage conversation took place, so I'm going to play the odds and guess Bitches. And anyway, this is a drawing tool, not hot pictures. But hey, ita, have you seen this that turns your mac multitouch trackpad into a drawing tablet?

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I'm not sure I see the shibari-trackpad connection there, Liese...and it was in Natter.

Thanks for the link, though! I do have a proper drawing tablet, which I suck at. I can't imagine how bad I'd be at a converted trackpad. I resent people who're good at that.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Love the ball/competition dress, too. I love orange.

That is a freaking fabulous dress. Go orange, choose orange!

Also go greyhound!

Shit's all sorts of different now.

I've been gone awhile and am distressed to see 2011 is still insisting on shitting my beloveds.

Jilli and Pete - I am so very incredibly sorry. I wish there were more things that I could do from here. Tzepesh was so very, very lucky to be loved and nurtured by you two. Poor noodles.

Fred - you and the Hubs are, like Jilli and Pete, some of the best cat owners I know. I am so sorry you guys had to let Victor go.

Dear 2011 - Eff the eff off. Please. Now.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Heh. Well, yeah, it's not related, other than by the broad topic of drawing. Yeah, when I looked at it, I could tell I would be bad at using it. But I have been doing a little paper doodling since the art teachers empowered my kiddoes. All of a sudden I was all, hey, it's, like, shapes. I'm not good at it, but it's been fun.

Anyway, yeah, agree that the year needs to back off my peoples!

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Wishing you much fun with the greyhound, Plei!

(I want a dog or cat. Mainly a cat. The Girl is still allergic. I'm waiting for her to stop doing that.)

The only thing I wonder is the whole "go gluten free and it'll help your migraines/fatigue!", which...well, I didn't have a migraine, but that's not shocking. And fatigue? Maybe. If it magically did all those things...

It really does help me with both those things. It's really hard to stick to, though. I've given up the effort in recent months, and seriously noticed the difference.

My PhD supervisor is totally up for me moving universities with him. This could be rather exciting. The university I'd be going to is a far better one that my current place. 30 PhD students in the Biblical Studies department alone, which has a great reputation. Need to find out more about the Sociology dept, but it could be excellent. Bloody double holiday weekend keeping me from visiting the place. Kate and William are selfish people who do not think of others, yes they are.
