Well, in hopes of lightening the mood and being somewhat frivolous, I've been asked to present the young adult RITA at the ceremony in New York in late June.
I'm need a gown. And stuff. I was thinking of choosing an out of the box (for me) color. In years past, I've worn purple, bronze satin, white chiffon, navy & black silk taffeta, and deep rose burnout velvet.
I've steered away from basic black because everyone wears it, but if I find something unique enough, I'll definitely consider it. The other thought I had was something like this:

That dress would look OUTSTANDING on you, Barb. Whoa.
nice dress. I love a rich rose
Oof. Too much walking yesterday, I guess. My ankle is killing.
Barb, that is a pretty dress.
Zenkitty, I hope you're out of there soon.
I had my hair done today and then came home to a yummy dinner TCG made, yay! Unfortunately, he is busy working, so no cuddling and watching of mindless tv, boo.
Am home, finally. After 3+ hours. I have viral bronchitis and drugs. And a hamburger, so it could be worse.
Zenkitty: the good cough suppressant is Tessalon Pearls. They are GOD.
That's what he gave me! I'm about to give them a whirl.
Barb, that dress is fucking gorgeous.
BARB! Yay! I'm so excited for you. That dress is hawt.
Zen, not so excited for you, but glad you finally went to the doctor. (AHEM.) Hope you feel better soon.
Back to research paper rough draft hell. BLEARGH.
Zen, I'm glad you are home with a diagnosis and good drugs. Feel better soon!
Zen, so happy you got the good drugs, babe. And a hamburger. Things are looking up.
Thanks on the dress thoughts, y'all. I worry about a color like that on me, always afraid that if it's not the right shade, it'll turn me a lovely shade of jaundice. I love pale sea foam green like whoa, but man, does it make me look like a malaria victim.
Jilli, huge hugs to you and Pete.
Today would have been my Dad's 80th birthday. I've been missing him a lot lately.
