Someone here or in Natter was talking about a way to combat task avoidance and said that they used the idea that you start by telling yourself you only have to do five of something--wash five plates, grade five papers, etc--and that usually those initial five led to more productivity, but even if it doesn't you are five closer than you were before. I love this. It really helps my ADHD tendency to avoid, avoid, avoid.
