I've been mostly fine all day, but I'm starting to get a little bit angry and resentful. I mean, a year ago the agency was GROWING! Rah rah! Funding was up! New projects! HOORAY! Let's hire SIX NEW PEOPLE!!
And then today, I (and 4 others) lose my job cause they've run out of money. I know that in the world of non-profit funding a year is a long time and it's easy to lose that much money and I know that for the health of the agency they needed to do something, but honestly? I would have worked part time for free just to keep my benefits. I have three people who are all on maintenace meds. I have 6 weeks to try to get them all filled for three months. Luckily, they are all generics and will be pretty cheap without insurance, but fuck I'm starting to get worried.
