I do have Benadryl, but does it make sense to take that if I don't have any mucus, or at least I don't have any mucus in my nose?
Yes, because Benadryl also reduces histamine-induced inflammation, and the sinus cavities are so relatively small that just a little swelling can block them.
I do have a bowl, and another friend metioned the same thing as you, Steph. I should try that.
It is gross, since you have to snort the water through your nostril, down your throat, and spit it out your mouth. But as a hack, it's effective.
Is the bending like bending forward? Because I'm picturing it in my head with me bending over forward.
Yeah -- bend forward at the waist. I guess the idea is that gravity will help get any residual salt water out.
Thanks Steph. I knew I could count on you to have a good answer.
Well thanks to Steph and bonny I am now dosed up and rinsed out. Well, somewhat rinsed. There seems to be a bit of a learning curve involved.
Yay. Now bed soon.
Here's hoping Sass made it home or was taken in by a good Samaritan.
Sass is not home. DH left at about 5:30 a.m. to go look some more. I'll start again when the nanny is available a little later this a.m. to watch K and listen for the phone to ring since for some reason !@#$ Verizon can't get our call forwarding to work.
I'm so sorry you guys. We will keep our fingers crossed.
Much, much, much, much, much ~mas to Buffistas and their pets. And Fred Pete, my thoughts are with Chloe and you.
Also and as importantly, my thoughts and brackets and ~mas are with Buffistas's families who need the ~mas.
Oh, Sparky. I hope she's found safe and sound posthaste.
I first learned to semi-neti in Peace Corps and used a coffee mug. I found the trick for a less painful experience is to make sure to inhale all salt water with no air mixed in. Hope you feel better today.
Maybe not the best time, so I separate it so it won't get mixed with the other post: those of you who asked me to tell about my 12-minute-lecture - it's here, in English. [link]
