Shir, how hard would the lower paying library job make it for you to move out of your parents' home in a timely fashion, and is the difference going to have a worse effect on your state of mind/emotions? It's already pretty tough for you there. I think the idea to take the library job is a good one, in general, money be damned. But not to the cost of your sanity.

Aims, I'm sorry about the work situation. Moving from MI to NC is a traditional Buffista path (by "traditional" I mean I did it and it worked out).
MI to Chicago also has its adherents.
To be fair, among Buffistas ita, bon and shrift pioneered the Leaving Michigan meme.
Nobody's silly enough to move back to one of the most depressed states in the union, though. Pfft, that'd be nuts.
