People with hazel eyes, does the brown or green become more ascendant depending things like mood?
I have been told that my green/gold eyes change with my mood, but I notice the change more when it comes to wardrobe.
My father had full hazel eyes and his were definitely more brown at times, but I can't remember what mood he night have been in. Could just have been a trick of the light.
Why do you ask?
They mentioned it so many times on CNN this morning and I kept thinking what would the Empress think of that?

Mine stay primarily green with the brown/gold getting a little more prominent depending on what I'm wearing.

I'll echo bonny--clothing and makeup will change how green or brown my eyes look. I kind of buy the mood thing, as more green than brown shows when my eyes are dilated.
Okay, I'll say it...my eyes are WAY green after sex. Maybe for the reason Anne suggested.
Can I just say, my eyes have been way more gold than I'd like these days.
Ahem.
If a dog is out, the mailmen around here do not deliver you mail. period.
I can understand that if there are actually dogs out.
Oh great. Who Let the Dogs Out earworm.

Dude. I hadn't caught that until just now. Uncool.
The odd thing about the hazel variant that runs in my family is that it changes color when as we get older. My eyes are definitely greener than they were when I was a kid, and if I follow what happened to my dad and to my gran, they will start turning bluer as I hit my 50s and 60s.

I always thought my father's eyes were brown. But since my mother has grey eyes, and I have green, the green had to come from somewhere. I'm putting this together with a friend I knew back in college, I'm in contact with him and his wife and their kids, recently she mentioned his hazel eyes. I never saw a hint of anything other than brown, way back when; but I spent a couple of years learning to read him, and finally realized that behind everything else in his eyes, was a deep-seated anger. He has managed to build a much more contented life for himself and his family than I could have predicted. The old man was a very angry person. It just occurred to me, that there might conceivably be some connection between mood and how brown or green hazel eyes appear, since my friend has so much less anger, and more green showing.

It's amazing that you should say that.
When I was much younger (= massive anger), my eyes were a lot more brown in photos. After the March (25 years ago...more like a lifetime) they turned much, much greener.
I could not conceive of how that could be until I read a bit in Bernie Segal's Love, Medicine and Miracles that talks about studies showing that a change in personality can precipitate a change in eye color. I don't have it right here, or I'd find the page number for you.
Now you have offered irl confirmation.
