Oh Pix ... I am so sorry for the horrible day, love. I wish I could help make it right. Much love honey. So much love.
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oh Pix, honey. I am so, so sorry you're having a bad day.
~2K to fix a door? MOG, Pix.
Yeah, that was pretty much my feeling about it. Apparently the door skin by itself is $450; a completely new door is around $850. That's BEFORE labor and any other bits and pieces the repair needs.
Thanks for the words of comfort. So bummed.
Good lord, Pix. Sorry about the crap day and crappier bill.
Oh, man. That is of the suck, Pix.
I'm sorry about the truck Pix. I've done a similar thing -in front of my grad students in the U parking lot- it sucks initially and then it sucks some more.
I'm hoping your day gets better immediately.

Thanks for the ~ma guys. Diagnosis inconclusive, more appointments and a general hope it's just a pinched nerve.
Do you know of any body shops that will pull a door from a junked car, Pix? Did you tell the body shops that you're paying for it, not insurance? Body shops often have double secret rates for that.
Ginger, they said they could look into that but that it might be 2-3 weeks before they found something that works, and ND uses the truck pretty regularly for business. Right now since the door opens and closes he wants me to wait until he can take a look at it.
it might be 2-3 weeks before they found something that works
optimal time period for making it look like zombies attacked the truck?
eta: ok yeah, dumb.
Wanted to post it in COMM, but I then I thought it might be a cultural thing.
That particular sentence was meant for amusing self-geek-deprecation, so COMM away.
{{{{{Pix}}}}} the damage to the truck does suck. And I'm sorry that going to the ob/gyn is so hard, too.
