I always took the "cats taking a baby's breath" as a misunderstanding of SIDS.

My guess is 99.9% of it is SIDS, and only about 0.1% cats inadvertently suffocating children they were trying to take care of. Just enough fact to leaven the whole myth.

Today has been a frustrating day so far. I went to PT and was having trouble doing exercises I had no trouble with last week because my pain levels are really elevated.

Wow, that's so great. (also, i'd like to visit Vermont...heard it's great) I'm kind of envious, but it gives me hope to know that somebody I know(who at one time faced long odds, maybe) can reshape her life into something she wants it to be.
