My hair right now is the longest it's ever been, almost past my ears. I'm not sure what to do with it. I don't want to cut it back short, but I want to make it a little more manageable as it grows long, just to try it.
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Wait wait, you mean my #1 Minion?! Ha! That's funny.
Yep! That would be her!!
Erin, I hope That Place works out for you. It sounds terrific.
I'm letting my hair grow out. I finally got it trimmed in the back so the grown out layers are gone. I'm mostly doing this because I've decided to be cheap and I've realized I can wash my hair at night, let it dry while I'm asleep, and it doesn't look bad. So it saves time in the morning.
Also I have a lead on an apartment. I sent an application, the landlady contacted me about my move in date, they want it rented April 1 and someone else is interested but not until May 1. I emailed her back I could move at the end of April and I'm willing to pay for that plus May in advance.
So I'm crossing my fingers but trying not to get too hopeful.
I need to redo my resume and I can never figure out my problem of having worked in 1 place but getting paid through 3 different companies. It went : temp agency, company temp - then they saw the position wouldn't be made perm, so another temp agency.
Put the place name for the job, then in the description you can indicate who actually paid you if you feel you need to.
The only way I get my hair cut with any kind of regularity is if I make the next appointment while I'm standing there paying for the current one. Drives me nuts that they rarely ask, so I have to do the remembering. (Tabatha would have something to say about that.)
Once my hair starts getting anywhere close to shoulder length it starts getting all scraggly and flat. It's just way too fine. Short works way better when I can keep on top of it, and I think it suits my face better anyway.
I think I'm going to try rag curling my hair tonight and see if that will get my hair to actually hold a curl.
Mmm, I don't think I qualify for unemployment; it's an at-will contract anyway, so they can fire me at any time, no reason, no warning, and I'm just not getting a contract renewed.
I know it varies by state, but that would cut it in New York. I was eligible when my temp agency stopped being able to get me work.
Things will be OK if I just keep my head on straight and keep my nose to the plow and my hand to the grindstone
Hand on the wheel, nose to the grindstone, no. Shoulder to the wheel, hand on the plow (nobody but me has touched my plow in--wait), ear to the ground, nose to the grindstone, eye on the ball. Now, punt!
In any case, best of luck with The Place, Erin.
Also, great good luck on the apartment, Askye.

At-will only means they can fire you with no cause at all; it has nothing to do with unemployment. You can get fired in an at-will state and still get unemployment as long as you weren't fired for a criminal activity. (Keeping in mind, like Trudy said, it varies by state.)
I'm in a "don't wanna" mood. I'm not sure what it is I'm supposed to be doing, but whatever it is, I don't wanna. So now I'm watching TV, but I don't really want to do that, either.
