Hil, my university, which is something of a carbon copy of yours, has responded to the financial crisis by choosing not to replace retiring tenured faculty and increasing the number of people on contracts, who actually make a profit for the institution. So everyone who teaches undergrads was renewed for the next year. Hopefully it will be the same at your school.
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Oooh. Theatre. Whatcha seeing?
Neil Simon's Plaza Suite. Looking forward to it. Nice tiny regional group. 140 seat room. Should be fun.
Allergy sufferers need acupuncture. Relief without drugs. Yay!
I would totally do that, meara.
Sounds good, Hil--where is she now?
San Francisco.

Thanks. Right now, the word is that the department will announce what's going on at the department meeting at the end of the month.

I think the fact that I would too is a sign I'm in the right place! :) Boss just emailed the Latin America team to ask--she said if they haven't responded by 10AM tomorrow to go ahead and take the vacay. Which I will also gladly do.
Laura, Fun Theatre!
And you are totally right about the acupuncture. I'm calling my buddy whose practice is a block and a half from my house. She came several times last year while I was sick, and I trust her completely.
In the meanwhile, I did opt for the Zyrtec and can say with a cautious YaY that it is, in fact, the bomb diggety.
My mind is clearer, my nose is drier and I no longer feel as if I am gargling glass.
Awesome stop gap until I can get in for the pokes.
Sigh. What a relief.
oops, wrong thread!

eeeexcellent
Allergy people: Allegra is now over-the-counter. Allegra rocks my socks, and I am willing to pay brand-name price for it until CVS has a store brand (and they might already; I don't know, because I haven't gone to get any yet).
Seldane, from way back in the 1980s, was the kick-ass best antihistamine EVER. And they took that shit off the market because it was making people's hearts kind of...stop. Bah.

I need to call the acupuncturist about my migraines. I wonder if she could also fix my migraines.
There was a headache drug called Cope that I would have bought heavily if I'd known it was going to pulled. I can't find any references to it, because I'd like to see what it's active ingredient was. Darned stupid common words being used as names.
