Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Cry havoc and let slip the boobs of war!" -- Miracleman

I'll be awake and bedecked with tiara. I'm hoping most of it will happen before I have to go to work.

It's supposed to start at 11AM GMT, so that means 7AM EST. But I wonder if the pomp and circumstance starts at 11, so the actual wedding will start later.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

I hesitate to post this, because I don't want to jinx it, but...we have a day set and a plan to get ex's son and his crap and his dog in a U-Haul and on the road to Texas. He has confirmation from his probation officer that he can check in via phone for the remainder of his probation, so he's free to move.

He has a U-Haul reserved for Friday morning. THIS Friday morning, and he's going to load up and head on out. I'm going to make him a batch of sugar cookies (his request; I was going to make chocolate-chip) and a bunch of ham & cheese sandwiches and pack up some apples, along with dog food and some jugs of water and a dog bowl and paper towels.

And, god willing, he and his dog will get to Texas in one piece (well, *two* pieces -- one piece per mammal) and he'll get to be with his family and get a chance to find work and start over.

This is my pattern of how I deal with crisis, every time: I cry, and then I rage, and then I feed people and/or myself. It's all I can do.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

He's a lucky person to have so many people pitching in to help him, Teppy. And I'm glad that there is a visible end-point for yours and Tim's part in it.

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I am asking this as a serious question and not trying to be snarky or whiny, but when does working out start to give you energy rather than just making you want to go to bed?

I was going to say roughly a month. and then eveytime you up it -- there will be an adjustment, but it is never as long as the first time.

Wasn't on the board much to day , but thinking of everyone and sending out the ma

“Not dead yet!”

Jeebus-- just heard from a friend of mine whose husband is a naval commander stationed at Atsugi-- they just got over there last summer for the start of a 3-year tour. State Dept. has chartered planes to evacuate Americans and they're getting ready to leave. Her husband has to stay, for the moment, but she and the kids are being brought to either LA or Seattle.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

The U.S. has chartered planes for Americans who want to leave Japan and can't get seats on commercial planes. There's no requirement to leave.

“Not dead yet!”

Maybe they're treating it a little differently for the military personnel who are there? I'm getting the impression they're being told to go. Of course, everything is crazy at the moment and I'm only getting intermittent reports in the form of short emails, but it sure sounds like Atsugi, at least, is being evacuated.
