Okay, um, I'm lost. Uh, I'm angry, and I'm armed, so if you two have something that you need to work out --

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

“Not dead yet!”

Okay, going in for deep periodontal cleaning in 75% of my mouth. LOTS of novocaine.

I'm being a big baby and whining.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Much, much ~ma for your friends, Erin.

I hope her dad is able to come to the wedding. It's coming up soon, right?

Thanks. Yes, just a couple of months! (We were silly enough to choose a wedding blog site with a countdown on it. The Girl regularly shouts a random number of days at me. "57 days!" She needs external motivators, or there won't be any catering and we'll be standing in the middle of a field going "Wasn't there supposed to be a marquee here?")

Thanks for the ~ma, all. The Girl says her dad is doing a bit better today. Hopefully she'll be able to come home by the weekend.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

{{{Barb}}} Minimal pain~ma.

I am asking this as a serious question and not trying to be snarky or whiny, but when does working out start to give you energy rather than just making you want to go to bed?

I've noticed that I feel slightly more energized after the gym than when I go in. It's not made any huge difference in day to day life, but there is a difference.

Also, my butt has bits that curve in, now, instead of everything curving out.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

It's like the fetal is there as your reset. USE IT.

Yup.

Bywater is part of the Ninth Ward (it's technically the Upper Ninth).

Argh, typing quickly on iphone while distracted. Meant to say: I believe the UPPER NINTH Ward is subdivided into Bywater (the L strip along river and Industrial Canal) and St. Claude. And Nora, you'll be amused to know that Smitty referred to Holy Cross as a "fictional neighborhood" last time I was down there. Yowza.

Lots of ~ma to your friends, Erin. How awful.

Best of luck, Barb!

Sometimes I think I might just move up to Vermont, open a bookstore or a vegan restaurant. Adam Schlesinger, z''l

I just found out that one of my friends from grad school is going to be working at my university next year. That'll be great, if I'm still working here next year. (Latest word is that we'll know by the end of the month.)

Socks are a running theme throughout the series. They are used as symbols of freedom, redemption and love.

I am asking this as a serious question and not trying to be snarky or whiny, but when does working out start to give you energy rather than just making you want to go to bed?

I'm sure this is something that's different for everyone, but here's my experience:

I've had post-viral fatigue since November 2009, so I've had to rest a lot. By fall 2010, I started to get out of breath going up stairs. After ruling out other causes, my doctor and I decided that it was just from being out of shape.

I started an exercise program with a physio in February. It made me really really tired (going to bed at 8:00, needing to take one day a week off tired), but around week three I would feel energized after the exercise.

I'm six weeks in now, and I am have more energy all the time. I have a cold this week, and I'm still feeling more energetic than I did before I started the exercise.

I hope you start feeling the benefits soon!

Compassionately intolerant

I'm right behind you, bonny. This thing that I have been saying for several days is just allergies has become a cough. No matter whether the cause of the cough is viral or allergenic, it's a sit up and take notice symptom that I have to keep a close eye on, so it doesn't develop a secondary bacterial infection in the old airways.

Ugh, Andi.

Rising from the bed to wish you the best as well.

The ick, whatever it is, has grown to the "Could somebody please walk my dog" phase...which for me is really bad. Neighbor is coming over in an hour and a half or so. Plus, I'm told there will be ice cream.

I am TOTALLY with you on the keeping a close eye. Nothing is in my lungs right now and I'm dreading that happening. I have not had anything six the pneumonia (6 months last week) and am worried about my ability to fight something off. So. Taking it super easy.

Speedy healing to us both!

Just found out NBC will be airing the Royal Wedding live! Yay! Boo for probably stupid announcers, but I'll be in the living room at 4 AM that Friday, with snacks and a big-screen TV.
