Hope he doesn't miss cooking too much!
He's been wanting to get out of the kitchen for a while now. He's just totally burned out on it and was at the point where he told John and Jen (the owners) that he needed to stop cooking, and that he was 100% committed to the Alchemist and wanted to do whatever he could for them as long as it wasn't in a cooking position. And he told them that if they couldn't keep him in a different position, he understood. So instead they promoted him to chief ass-kicker (which is exactly how he described it).
I am saddened though that I can no longer go and pick up the Alchemist's canned beers... Guess distribution in Louisiana is out of the question...
I told him that if they had the capability to brew/can enough to distribute widely, they'd be beer gods.
Oh, that's awesome for him.
It *really* is. He's so thrilled.
The one downside -- which is not related to his career at all -- is that he was going to be visiting Cincy in 3 weeks. We just talked about it on Sunday. And I had been getting more and more excited to see him, and then when John and Jen gave him this new position, he had to cancel his trip, because he has a fuckton of work to do before he can vacate the kitchen.
I was okay with it last night, because I was so excited about his job, but today? I woke up thinking how sad I was that he won't be able to visit. Damn it.
It's weird to be 100% thrilled for him and 100% sad for me.
(Also, he told me last night how much he loves Ayn Rand, and he wasn't joking. I told him to go piss up a rope.)

Just the thing one wants in a manager.
I went to the PT today. My range of motion and muscle tone are pretty much awful right now, which is not news. So, I'll be going to physical therapy 3 times a week for the next month, including 2 Saturdays because I couldn't find another day to schedule them with my other appointments and babysitting on Fridays. I'm already sore just from her testing my muscle tone today, but she promises me it will get better.
Tea:
Yay, Smonster that is awesome!
BT, sorry to hear that Ryan is sick again. I hope he is feeling better soon.

Well, he *did* describe his new position as "Ass-kicker," so it didn't really surprise me.
Plus, he does love trains.

So commie then? /George Will.
