Oy vey iz mir. If I passed up a personal request to head up a volunteer thing, and the person who stepped up is kind of clueless and not doing all that great a job (under challenging circs, it must be said) then I absolutely don't get to look at what she's doing skank-eyed, right? ::sigh:: This is what I get for not committing to shit.
Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
I agree, Cass, but I don't think there's an easy way to say "No please don't give me two houses."
Trudy, that's so interesting--not that I would actually write a card, but I was taught that a thank you is always appropriate.
I talked here about the last time I took responsibility for the boy when both his parents were out of the country a few years ago. It actually went really well and I think we would have been okay, though I am way, way more involved and disciplining than his parents.
It's nice to see that he is doing well on his own at college.
I'll always be there for him, but I'm glad to see he won't really need me.
That fact that I was even remotely entertaining the idea was a bigger shock to me than anyone else. The depth and breadth of emotion was interesting and humbling.

Pretty much no. Definitely not. And it is an amazing gesture - to say that she likes you guys and doesn't want you to be forced out if there was a tragedy and trusts you with her home. Totally lovely.
Actually that happened to a friend of mine -- the house she rented forever was left to her -- not outright , but there was some sort of option to buy at a very low price. It was a bit scary for her -- but it seems to be working
The man apologizes like he's British. He apologizes for apologizing. He apologizes way more than I do.
ahahahaha. I know this one!
WTF is Cate Blanchett wearing?
The Ambien isn't working anymore. Or I should say, it makes me sleepy right away but I only sleep for about 6 hours. That's about as good as I get from Benedryl. Only I'm finding myself wanting to take the Ambien anyway. I'm saying this here as a commitment to not abuse them. There are five left in the bottle. I see the psychiatric NP on Tuesday morning - and intend to take the bottle in to her. If she won't take it then on the way home I will leave it in the drop box at the police station.
Andi, I think it's fantastic that you're strong enough to make that decision and choose to be accountable for it. I'm happy to see you taking care of you.
Unrelatedly, has anyone had acupuncture for anything -- I'm interested specifically in migraines, but any experience is fine -- and did it work/what did you think of it?
I keep getting migraines on the order of once every 7-10 days. I've read medical papers about the efficacy of acupuncture for migraines, but I was just hoping to get any personal stories. I think I'm going to make an appointment this week (I mean I'm going to call this week; I don't know when the appointment will be, obviously) and see what she can do. This is nuts.

I've had acupuncture for PMS and migraines, and it did work for me. I didn't feel the teeny-tiny needles (seriously, they're about the size of a strand of hair) when they went in. My acupuncturist also used a tuning fork (E above middle C, I think) which was strange, but effective.
