Ryan update: he's pretty much over his fever now, and is his usual cheerful self. The morning offered him hot air balloons on the way to childcare, so he's having a good day. (Really, leaving aside concerns over his fever, we had a lovely weekend together. We've started on the alphabet with him. K is for kiss, because he enjoys giving them.)

ION, I just stumbled across a round of pumpernickel I got on Wednesday. Thank goodness I found it, as it is still pretty nummy - but it would not have lasted forever. I love to tear off chunks from the loaf and either slather butter on it, or eat it with slices of cheese. Om nom nom.

Hey guys! I'm just popping in to tell you a funny spikelet story.
Aidan likes to surf youtube for school bus videos. He found one set to the tune of the milkshake song. Once he starts a video, we do not stop him. Mayhem results. So he watched it, and he loved it, and other than making him exchange "damn" for "ratfink" I let him sing it.
So, random whim, a couple of days later I asked him, "Hey Aidan, do you have a milkshake?"
Aidan: Yes, and it is bringing all the boys to my yard. And ratfink, it is better than yours.
