Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Feh. I had plans for this evening. Now I don't.

And the friends I'd really like to spend time with are sick.

Eh.

These days, it's an effort to get myself geared up to go out, so having a plan thwarted is...well...thwarting.

Plus, I've been completely feckless today and feel bad about that.

My impulse is to turn the heater up and give Bartleby a much, much needed bath. Woohoo. My life is a scream.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I also need to give the dog a bath. There's been so much rain that my white dog is kind of tan. However, since it's been pouring all day, it seems such a futile gesture.

The futility is a risk we have here too. It's that he's become a smelly dog, which is just not his way. Today, I noticed that he's got a couple of stains on his fur...I don't want to think what those are. He's been wearing his clothing (don't judge, he's nearly bald underneath and shivers in the cold) lately, so I'm not sure how he got so dirty. Except, of course, that he's low to the ground and it is gross outside.

The status is NOT quo.

Just got news on our raise next year. 2%. Better than a cut, but we'd been led to believe it was finally going to be substantial after two years of reductions. Trying to remain positive but a bit bummed since our salaries are already on the low-end for this area.

I look more rad than Lutheranism

We did the same thing.

Awww. There's the sweet girl. That sweater was a good color for her. And I love the photobomb.

Bartleby's clothes...all three pieces...are mostly human clothes that work pretty well on him. Keeps the belly dry and stops the shivering. His actual dog coat makes him crazy...like trying to grind it off, crazy...but the two little kid fleeces seem relatively tolerable.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

I tried to put a sweatshirt on the Biscuit in Chloe's memory, but he was having none of it.

Human clothes, you say?

Heh. Kato would eat the clothes before he'd let us dress him in anything. Although I keep pimping for a nice bow tie like Bartelby.

I can't even remember where I got his bowtie. But his clothes come from the children's consignment shop. I need to take photos of his blue fleece pullover (the favorite, as it is apparently quite comfortable) and his brown hoodie (sans hood) zip up. I like that one because it is easier to get on, but I think he finds it a bit restrictive.

In any case, warm is good.

“Not dead yet!”

Warmth not so much an issue for the girls. One has a natural lush coat, the other cavorts enough for any three dogs to keep warm.
