Storm N Post!

I know! I feel kind of bad about it -- "MOR SNOW NEWZ! -- but it's kind of the Big Thing going on right now.

My window is right here by my computer in the office, so I just keep watching it pour down.

The Blizardpocalypse isn't supposed to start here until 4 PM. But it sounds like it could be the biggest snowstorm in Chicago history. So, exciting!

We're still getting lots of sleet tickety-ticking against the windows. No snow yet, but it will be here soon. Apparently, we're right on the edge between the snow and freezing rain in this storm, so we're getting a patchwork of wintry stuff across the St. Louis area.

DH just texted he's being sent home now.

Gov't CONTRACTORS are being sent home; it's for sure the snowy end of the world, as DH has NEVER been sent home early in 7 years.

DJ, I'm so sorry for the loss of your friend.

All the "it just happens" stories are making me existentially terrified.

amyth, my condolences; it's so hard even when you know it's the right thing to do. I've never had to put a pet down, and I dread it, because I know it's inevitable.

Oh, lordy, I wish this were true of my niece. The drama is when she's awake.

I just got home(yay! they let us go early!) and it is snowing but not Blizzardpocalypse levels yet. Still, glad I'm home and don't have to drive home later!

Thanks, bonny, Zen, everyone. I forgot to mention: the vet called me later in the day to make sure I was okay. They are so awesome. I need to bake them cookies or something when I get my energy back.

Zenkitty, I know she's a stressor on you, but this made me laugh.

Right now, we're planning a recycling video in our office. Ideas so far: an Inception parody about incepting frat boys to use compostable Solo cups for beer pong instead of plastic Solo cups ("It's not impossible, it's just bloody difficult.") and one with us all karate chopping cardboard boxes for some reason. I think we're a little punchy today.

Much ~ma to everyone. The first part of the ice storm changed tracking just enough that it missed us. Still not going into the office though... I'm fine working while sitting on the couch in inside pants.

I need to order personal business cards for my job search. I'm thinking about going with Vistaprint, but reviews are mixed. Does anyone have any experience with them? Or is there a better alternative? I'd obviously like to do this as cheaply as possible.

Ugh, I hate looking for a job, but I'd hate not having money to pay the bills more.

We're snowed in and the CSA is locked into our pick up location which probably won't be unlocked until Thursday. Good thing I went to the market.
