Yes. Men like sports. Men watch the action movie, they eat of the beef, and enjoy to look at the bosoms. A thousand years of avenging our wrongs and that's all you've learned?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

It's -17˚F now. I thought that uber-cold shit was only supposed to be one day. As I told my brother yesterday, you know it has been flippin' cold when single-digit temperatures seem not so bad.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

I can't even imagine that kind of temperature, WS.

So, the company I work for is having a six week exercise challenge - fill in a score card by checking off a box for every ten minutes of physical activity (can include housework such as sweeping or vacuuming, as well as exercise). People who do three ten minute periods of activity every day for six weeks can enter a drawing for prizes. I decided to actually enter this, for no better reason than I can tell my therapist that I'm not just sitting on my ass. I actually like the idea. What I don't like is the way that a supervisor mentioned that the company is keeping track of who participates, and who doesn't. That seems ominous.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

although I'm also really frustrated that it's involved this much stress. Thinking of writing to my MP about the process, especially since the agency in question is in the spotlight a bit because of cuts. I don't want anyone else to be so worried about being unable to do their job that they get ill(er).

You really should. Every time I hear about something like this I think about those people who are unable to fight as hard for what they need as you were able to in this situation.

It could be ominous, but that doesn't matter if you actually have other motivations for participating. Do watchu wannado for you...um...dude.

Greece's financial crisis threatens to take down all of Western civilization - a civilization they themselves founded. A rather tragic irony - which is something they also invented. - Jon Stewart

I agree with Shir. Beth, you are very interesting. I was wondering what you think of wearing sarongs?

I think you should put one on, dance around, and then post video of this. Heck, why not?!?!

I have to say I am glad I decided to participate before I heard that. They already had us fill out a "health habits" assessment for the medical insurance - you didn't have to fill it out, but those who didn't were subject to an increase in premiums. I hope that when they get around to raising premiums on people whose health habits scores were less than wonderful, they will take things like participation in this challenge into consideration.

It bugged me that I got a low score not so much because I have actual poor habits, but because I have the habit of weighing as much as I weigh.
