Wow, Erin - the wallpaper sounds lovely.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
Lemme take a moment to caution against using polyurethane indoors. I've worked with it frequently for furniture and the stink is mind-altering (literally.) If you go to any paint store you should be able to get a clear satin latex glaze (usually used with tints to do effects) that won't make your eyes water. You can also get matte, but satin gives that little bit of lustre. Plus, easier to clean up any smudges or messes. Home Despot doesn't always carry it....i know benjamin moore makes a really nice product but it is more spendy that other brands.
eta: ooh, actually that polycrylic linked isn't polyurethane and looks safe to use inside, plus much more resiliant than a glaze base. nvrmnd
I tweeted and FB'd the wallpaper pix; I'll have to wait to add them to photobucket, because I think I am going to take a little nap.
I have a teeny little hangover.
Already posted to Natter, but here's the link to the house pictures I've been so slack in posting. They're here.
We still have SO much to do! I'm trying to be patient, but I want it all done Nownownow!
The oldest know human melody (according to Pharynglua) [link] - note youtube link, plays upon clicking unless your software is set to block.
Neat!
Barb, your house looks amazing! I love American houses with big porches that you can sit on. And all the artistic touches are beautiful.
People are coming to build a second desk in my office today (long story involving an ergonomic assessment that said my current desk was ruining my neck, but I want to keep it to put things on anyway). Poor Hamish the Hamster has to move out of my study, as a result. She's currently on the landing just outside the bathroom. I'm hoping that's not too unhygenic, if I keep the bathroom door closed. She'll be lonely downstairs - I mainly live upstairs.
Shocking fact - using half as much cleanser ( unintentionally because my travel bottle is low ) after eye makeup remover doesn't, in fact, leave your face clean. Does a decent job of leaving you looking odd until you rewash your face. Or looking like you've been crying or hit. Doesn't clean your face though. Now I know.
Grr. I feel guilty and annoyed....I agreed to do a favor for a friend and work from 9-midnight at a coat check, as part of a fundraiser for an organization I participate in. At midnight...no replacement. At 12:30, I finally saw the manager of the bar, and said "Um, I'm supposed to work til 12..." and he was like "No, it's til 2, and it's been that way all year". So I ended up texting the guy who'd gotten me to work, and leaving the other dude (who'd been saying he'd be fine staying til 1) all alone. Which I feel bad for. But seriously? I'm not working til 2AM. I hate to leave them in the lurch, but that's not cool (the other guy ALSO thought he was working til 12 only)
dude that is so rude
eta- annoyed is OK. Guilty is so not fair to you.
