Ack! I gave the dalmatian her tramadol tonight like we always do, in a lump of peanut butter on the end of a plastic knife. We hold the knife towards her so it's flat, and kind of swipe it past her mouth quickly, because if we hold anything foodlike out to her, she bites the shit out of it. And she bites like a gator. Which breaks plastic knives.
Which she did tonight. She bit off a good 1/4 to 1/3 inch of that knife and quickly swallowed it. (I checked her mouth several times -- no plastic stuck anywhere.)
So now I'm freaked out that the plastic is going to destroy her GI tract and I just killed the dog.
Animals (and kids) manage to swallow all kinds of things. Monitor her Bx and her poop for a few days; see if these are signs of distress, swelling or bloating, or discomfort.
Or if you're really freaked, call the vet tomorrow. Maybe a doggie X-ray?
I hope Chloe quickly (and obviously, so the humans don't unduly worry) passes the plastic bits. Dogs really do seem to eat quite a lot that just travels through them. But I know you must be worried. I would be in your shoes.
I think Kittenish has plans to steal my slippers again. This might be why I so rarely own slippers.

She's done it once before, with no apparent ill effects. I'm just worried that she's reached her lifetime limit of broken plastic knife-piece consumption, and any further knife-eating will kill her slowly by tearing her insides apart.
She'll probably be fine, but -- broken knife piece! In her innards! Yikes!

Maybe invest in spudware.

I don't mind tea--I prefer Earl Grey and English Breakfast--but I am coffee's bitch. Got a Keurig machine for Christmas, and it's been going non-stop. I love the ability to choose what kind of coffee I'll drink for each cup. I may have 10 or 11 different types in the cupboard.
edit: Andi, it's good to have you back. I was worried about you too.
Tea. Earl Gray. Hot.
t with milk and artificial sweetener, ta!
I've had Rishi tea, brenda. Tell your friend he does good tea.

Aw, thanks. I'm feeling better than I was before I went to the hospital, and maybe even better than I have in at least a year.
