Overwhelming? How much more than whelming would that be exactly?

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"And that's why God Almighty gave us fire insurance and the public defender".

What everyone said, Scrappy. If they were my parents, I'm not sure if I'd be mad - but I'd probably be hurt by their reaction.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

Dana--yes, they have. First, FiL wanted a new Mustang and asked us to cosign for him, which we didn't.

This just makes it worse - it's doing an end run around something they already know you don't really want to support.

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

smonster, i hope your throat clears up quickly. that's just miserable.

Scrappy, another vote for "insanity." Who buys their own gift and then guilts their kids into paying for it? That's extremely rude.

brenda makes an excellent point.

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Agree on the rude, Scrappy. Disliking a gift is one thing, but the demand-making sounds horribly irritating.

Why did Darth Vader cross the road? To get to the Dark Side!

Ugh Scrappy. I cannot imagine my parents ever doing something like that.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

I say it IS rude and he is not overreacting. What say you?

Hugely rude. I'd be livid.

Not that I wouldn't have just sent the check this time but I'd be really wary of doing anything nice in the future that could be warped. Grrrr.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

I hope you get a treatable diagnosis soon, smonster. Would you like me to pick up anything for you? Orange juice or whatever? Just give me a call if you need anything.

Scrappy, yes, that was rude. I'd be pretty pissed off.

“Not dead yet!”

I'm with the insanely rude, totally not overreacting camp.

Also? The Alaskan cruise we went on this summer was in honor of my in-law's fiftieth wedding anniversary as well.
