he often doesn't remember what the doctors say if I'm not there.
Oh, lord yes. They always come in when you're groggy on drugs. It's very rude.
Spike ,'Same Time, Same Place'
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

It's like waitpersons who show up to ask if you need anything more when you A) have your mouth full; and, 2) desperately need more napkins.
He's running a fever of 102 again, which makes it even harder for him to focus. And they got results from today's CT scan back and haven't told me anything. Grr.

And now the nurse tells me that the on-call doctor would rather not talk to me tonight about the CT scan results because she hasn't been treating Drew, so I have to wait until tomorrow to talk to the normal doc and I know they found something not great and I'm freaking out a bit about waiting. Please please don't let anything happen to him. I love him.
Oh, dear. Waiting is hard. I hope the news is not too bad when you get it, and you can get some sleep meanwhile.

Oh god, Pix.
If it was really bad, they'd talk to you right away, no?
All my ~ma to both of you.
Oh, Pix, this is so tough. I know how the rhythms of hospital are so hard to square with the rest of the world going blithely on its way. I really hope they get things diagnosed and good. The delay might not mean anything bad, so hang in there.
