I have this tendency to think that if I say things just right, I'll get the result I want.
Sigh. If only. Sometimes, it really doesn't matter what the content of the communication is, a body who needs to be explody is going to explode.
When I face extreme anger in my clients, 98% of the time what they are mad about is not what they are actually mad about. Yet another reason to use taking things personally (or feeling like you can divine what will make someone feel better) very, very sparingly.
