These girls have the most beautiful dresses. And so do I -- how about that?

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Tammy's shingles are probably caused/exacerbated by the stress she's been going through. She needs to take a break.

That's the pain / That cuts a straight line down through the heart / We call it love

The card she put in my Christmas present has a woman looking at a cookbook and saying, "And the blood of a newborn...a newborn what? Satan, why are your recipes so difficult?"

Heh, awesome. I like her already.

I must obey the inscrutable exhortations of my soul—Calvin and Hobbs

Welcome Aeryn!

Bonny, I'm glad things are working out well for Niki.

Steph, I'm sorry you've lost someone close to you.

Oh my. That's pretty awesome.

Art Crawl!!!

Bonny, I meant to say that it's so great that Nikki is doing so well.

Compassionately intolerant

Thanks for the good thoughts. It really has started my year off right to know that, more than being cared for well, she is well and truly happy. She says that her daughter is organized and kind and she loves her SiL's sense of humor. Plus, she is half a block from the ocean and goes there to watch the sun set. "There is so much more 'sky' around here."

I just love it.

In other stuff, does anybody but me drink Trader Joe's Blueberry Green Tea? I can't seem to find it at my locals and I'm wondering if it has been discontinued. Wouldn't be the first time one of my favorites disappeared. (soy poppers, I'm still pining for you!) But, if it is still out there, I'd like some more.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

Congrats, Alters!

Tep, I'm sorry about your co-worker. (And your bumbling boss.)

I just met an old Salon TableTalk regular for lunch. He started living in a Mercedes Benz van last year, traipsing around the country. It seems to be going well for him. We had a great chat. It was fun to see someone and feel confident that I hadn't bored them or made some social faux pas. Whether it's paranoia or not, I so often leave an event feeling that I messed up somehow.

Our wings are not tired.

I so often leave an event feeling that I messed up somehow.

What a terrible way to feel. I know everyone who met you at K&D's Thanksgiving thought you were very nice.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Steph, I'm sorry for your loss.

Ginger, I hate to hear that there is more illness and struggle in your family.

bonny, I'm so glad to hear that Niki is doing so well! That's marvelous.

I'm watching FNL while I eat dinner. Coach Taylor is so my hero right now. Today ended on a rough note. One of the trainees wanted to work late to make up being late from lunch, and when I responded that she'd just been standing around talking anyway, flew off the fucking handle at me. And when I asked how long she'd wanted to stay after, she said, "Don't even worry about it if you're going to lie like that.".

::sigh:: We're going to have another little talk tomorrow about professional communication. It's possible I was mistaken or overstated, but snapping and calling one's supervisor a liar is not going to win friends and influence people. I will NOT miss her attitude, and I hope she gets the medication and therapy she needs.

While I'm whinging, I overcaffeinated, underhydrated, and undercaloried. Certainly didn't help today's final scene. I was shaky as hell when I got home.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Whinge hat trick: digging footers under existing beams and through roots and red clay fucking sucks and my back is killing me.

There. I think I'm done. And yes, even today, I'm glad I took this job.
