Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Hey sj post tomorrow and I'll join your onerous tasks!

Sure!

Our apartment is cleaner than it has been in ages thanks to having guests yesterday, so that is one plus of being lazy today is not having to feel guilty about all the clutter while being lazy.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

So, I just want to send out car~ma to everyone

A truck threw up a rock at me yesterday. Starburst shatter of my windshield. Which I hope I can just have repaired so I ditched my plans for long driving today because no way would it not have spread and needed a full replace.

Ah well.

It's nothing major, I just laughed reading the earlier post about car~ma.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Harvey is draped over my shoulder, purring. My left ear is nice and cozy.

Yikes, Cass. I'm glad you're ok, and I hope the fix is cheap.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

What sj said.

I've put away clothes, scooped the litter pans, gone through all my socks, and gotten rid of a sweater or two. I also boiled eggs for lunch. Now to make dinner and then to the grocery store.

I am not allowed to buy t-shirts or socks for six months.

omnis, pursue. That's an order from a shy woman who can use M-16. - Shir

My body has managed to completely adapt to sleeping in during this school break. Tomorrow morning is going to suck.
You are clearly not alone. Tomorrow will be rough. Last few days I've had alarms set, to try and get back in the mode. Today, I woke at NOON, not remembering half the alarms. Granted, I went to bed at 4am :: whistles innocently ::

I need to make a sock run, too. I think I've thrown out about 5 pairs worth this past summer and I've got at least 4 socks with no matches that have been floating around for a while. When I'm desparate I'll wear them, since they're all white and who's going to notice they don't match under jeans?

Occasionally I’m callous and strange

so i have this opportunity through a state energy initiative to have my furnace (installed 1980) and my water heater (installed 1979) both replaced, and my house insulated, at a reasonably low interest rate (5.9% 20 year loan) that i would pay as part of my monthly energy bill (no penalty for pre-payment). It's all top rate contractors and pretty solid. But it's still about 7k for everything.

I've kinda always been of the "if it ain't broke, don't fix it", but hot air and hot water are both very important to me, and i worry that if i wait for them to break down, one by one, it'll still be really expensive but without the convenient financing and with days/weeks of misery waiting for replacements. It's not like i have $5k for a new furnace just hanging out in case (i know i should, working on that, but not there yet.)

I guess i'm wondering what others think? My mom thinks it's fabulous, my Dad grumbles to not throw money at something that is working just fine. I see both points of view. I'm leaning towards taking the plunge but only insulating attic and basement and trying to talk them out of blow-insulation in all the exterior walls (my house was built in 1905, so i'm lucky there's evena wisp of insulation in the attic). I get scared making big financial decisions without clear guidance. *whimper*
