I managed to do an hour of (very low-energy) yoga today without a single cough! And i dedicated my practice to health~ma for all.
two night of limited empirical testing have confirmed to my satisfaction that vicks vaporub on the feet has zero affect on coughing. It does, however, feel AMAZING. Like, the best foot rub ever. I can totally imagine telling my mom i had a nasty cough just to get a vicks foot rub.
Like I said great in preventing foot fungus.
Thanks, WS, it's on my wish list now!
Vicks vaporub on feet, noted.
My mom didn't use Vicks, she used Musterole, so that's what I used on my kids. I think the vital successful ingredient was actually the attention they got while I was putting it on, and the massage. I know all the muscles in their little chests were tight and sore from coughing. I could feel them relax with the warming effect and the soothing of the rubbing. The vapors probably helped open and clear their sinuses, but five minutes of my focused effort on a chest resulted in a cessation of coughing--at least for a while, and easing directly into sleep.
Old Wives Tales have some truth, I guess.
Yay, smonster!
And yay, erin-o, for yoga without coughing.
I suppose I should have a modern bible, and the scolarly one sounds interesting. I keep my KJV solely for the poetry, and memories of Sunday School, GA's, VBS and Christmas pageants past.
Don't bleed out, smonster!
Dawn, we had rainbows in SF today too.
We've got Emmett's godsister, Maggie (aka, "Maggie the Girl" as Matilda calls her) over and working our way through pizza and xmas specials.
We've done the Grinch, and now on Pee Wee's xmas special. Next up, the Glee Christmas show.
Thanks for the ~ma, all. I called my parents to talk to them about the email and my dad was all, "Hey, you know Grandma was in the hospital, right?" Um, no, since you didn't tell me! Hopefully it's NBD.
I think I'm going to celebrate Discardia tomorrow. Thrift store, recycling center, here I come!
No worries, David, I clotted up nicely.
Okay, I am about to brave the airport to pick up Mom.
Wish me luck.
