Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

I’m responsible for my own happiness? I can’t even be responsible for my own breakfast! (Bojack Horseman)

I thought the Gulf Coast summer would kick my ass, but it really didn't. It's more consistent than anything else.

Today, it's so beautiful out, and it makes me happy. It's 69 degrees and I am walking around without a coat.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

I finally got some sleep, a bit too much in fact as I'd forgotten to set my alarm. Thanks to the holidays, traffic was super light so I wasn't late.

Hahaha, prednisone side effects. This time around I missed my period, which meant a late night panicked email to Teppy and then POAS. Not cool.

The trainees seemed to like their gifts, and my coworker brought us all honey buns, so that was nice.

“Not dead yet!”

Did you all here about the snow in Australia ? it is supposed to be summer there

But global warming is a myth. ::boggles::

I will say, those sorts of days in Miami-- the brilliant, sunny, mid-60s to mid-70s, low(ish) humidity and breezes coming in off the ocean days, were what always made understand exactly why Henry Flagler insisted on building his railroad through a swamp. However, they're far too rare for my taste and I get those now during the summer.

I do miss the incongruity of palm trees strung with Christmas lights this time of year. And the Three Kings parade.

I had to re-read your post a few times, because I kept looking at my e-mail and wondering why I didn't see an e-mail from you from LAST night.

Eventually the reading comprehension kicked in. Ah, codeine.

Compassionately intolerant

I sort of 'unset' my alarm last night, so it did not go off when I needed it to. But I swear, I woke up to a voice saying, 'they're here' (not in a wiggy poltergeist way). I sat up, put my feet on the floor and the phone rang telling me the window washers were in the yard.

I cannot believe the difference a good washing has made. Obviously, I could see out of the windows, but nothing like this! What a delight. Now I want to invite everyone over just so they can look out the windows. I've got a great view and, well, CLEAN!

I may be just a tad too joyful about this.

Pulling all the furniture away from the windows caused me to get that crazy clean gene going so I have dusted and vacuumed all the things. And washed a glass light fixture.

There is more to do...there is always more to do...but the place is pretty spiffing at the mo.

And Bartleby is relishing snoozing in a sun spot on the great room floor.

It's good. It's really good.

bonny, that sounds like an ideal way to celebrate the Solstice and the return of more sun!

Perzactly!

I was just bummed that I didn't get the courage up to spend the money so it could have been done yesterday. In the end, it was a c-note well spent as it makes this room waaaay more appealing as a place to offer workshops.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

Am now earwormed with "I Can See Clearly Now". But I can think of worse thing to have stuck in my head. I'm glad you get to celebrate the return of the light so well, bonny. You deserve good things.

I'm leaving for Nashville tomorrow. My brain translated it to cleaning anxiety, which is ever present anyway, as opposed to finishing work, packing, wrapping, clothes washing, do I have everything anxiety.

Well, in that case, I wish safe travel, sanity in the preparation, and not-too-much craxy while you are there.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

Mr Peabody is now on The List. After many months of not chewing anything he wasn't supposed to, he just ate a fairly expensive shoe.
