Oh, I forgot to tell you earlier. There's a new Thai restaurant in our little town. It's the first Thai restaurant here. And as a matter of fact, it is the first one near anywhere where I have lived. So when we went to it today, it was a first. But I had heard that it was really good - everything so fresh, and the spring rolls were especially good. There was an article in the local paper about the place, that mentioned that many customers come in and ask advice about what to try, naming a couple of dishes that make a good introduction to Thai food. So we tried the Chicken Pad Pak. It was very good, but I discovered the chili sauce at the table is exponentially hotter than what they have out at our favorite Chinese restaurant. I really liked the spring rolls, even though they were very different from anything I had ever had before. I liked the weird sticky texture of the rice wraps, against the crisp veggies. I look forward to trying a variety of new dishes there, and a little sad that if I do, then it will be a while until I get to have the pad pak again.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?
[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.
WS, I love Thai food. So good.
I got each of the trainees a pair of Smartwool boot liners and a small tin of Burts Bees hand salve. I hope they don't hate them. I'm having gift insecurity.
mmmm, thai food
i'm taking advantage of my temporary absence of appetite to decrease my caloric intake significantly (if all my body wants is hot tea and soup, so be it). kinda gotta, since the only exercise i'm getting is walking around my 815 sq' house.
Spent another 2 days home sick from work. my experiment of attempting to work on Sunday FAILED miserably. It's really not good when you can't speak loud enough to talk over hysterical callers and even worse when you realize that you are (somewhat) deliberately skipping peripheral officer-safety questions because you need to turn off your mic and have a cough-till-you-gag episode. my calls were suffering, and that's no ok.
Plus my coworkers looked at me with evil in their eyes, and i can't blame them. i hate sick people on the floor. even if they are "beyond contagion" according to a Dr.
So, all told, skipped 3 of my 4 day workweek and got NOTHING productive done. I might have written and mailed one card.
ION, some relief from raising the head of my bed on some risers i had hanging out in the basement. It's a little trippy-feeling at first, having my head 8 inches higher than my feet, but it cut down the coughing impulse a bit and i'd try sleeping upside down with a cat under each armpit if someone told me that would cut down the coughing. Tonight we try codeine in pill form, and see if that's strong enough to get me close to 8 hrs without ambien. Turns out the Tylenol+ is significantly stronger than the cough syrup. I wonder what the pharmacist thinks about my history, what with 2 diff types of codeine this week and vicodin and oxycontin about this time last year for the broken foot.
dang smonster, those are nice gifts! especially with what they're doing outside. hand salve is of the gods. you have very luck freshmakers.

It's helping my coughing HUGELY.

I like Thai food, but my digestion kind of doesn't. Too spicy.
erin, I hope the codeine treats you right. And thanks for the reassurance on the gifts, I feel better.
Speaking of gifts, I hope my roomie didn't get me anything. I didn't get her anything this year, and I think I did last year. Maybe? Crap.
Thai food is yum.
Mmmm, Thai. We went out for Thai tonight, but I opted for some spring rolls, miso soup, and a California roll. And Sake of course. I really went out the door with Pad Thai in mind, and then...
