I can't believe that you are allowed to release adult students grades to anyone other than the student. (Isn't that against FERPA? At least - here we're not allowed to discuss students records with anyone that isn't the student.)
The student gave me permission to discuss his grades with his father.
Sweet crispy jaysus, Hil, that's just mind-boggling.
I've made my kids take their lumps gradewise since they started school. Was I happy when Nate got Ds & Fs? No. Did I explain to him, "Well, if you had actually done your work your grades might have been better?" Yes. Were there problems with the teacher? Yes, which contributed to Nate not doing the work, but bottom line was he didn't do the work, so he got the grades he deserved.
So, now that it's Friday night, with the doctor closed until Monday and all, it's probably not a good idea to google pneumonia symptoms, huh?
Shit.
Teppy, is there an urgent care near you that is open on the weekend?
I thought that was you.
Inorite? She had the height and pale skin I lack. Wasn't close enough to see if she had the blue eyes.
I'm still watching S1 of The OC, and Luke just almost kissed Julie Cooper. Also, the whole annoying Oliver storyline is almost over.
amyth and I still occasionally say, "It's just, YOUR ASS."
Do you actually think you have pneumonia, or are you just torturing yourself? Not that I would ever do something like that to myself.

I do tend towards hypochondria, but my lungs really hurt. And I'm having shortness of breath, although I keep telling myself that I'm breathing shallowly to avoid coughing, because when I try to take a deep breath I end up with a coughing fit.
I'm not coughing up any nastiness at all. And I don't have a fever.
But, uh, I have all the other symptoms of viral pneumonia, which (thank you, WebMD) is usually less severe than bacterial pneumonia and comes on gradually, often seeming to start as a cold. Like, uh, me.
But if it IS viral pneumonia, there's nothing really to be done for it, because it's viral and can't be treated with antibiotics. So there would be no point in going to urgent care anyway because they couldn't do anything.
It's probably just a bad cold. I would have to treat them the same way anyway.
Hil, I always said "I don't discuss grades with anyone but the student, regardless of FERPA" After my first semester, I said on the first day "Do not have your parents call me to discuss your grades. You are in law school, and you are an adult. If you cannot advocate for yourself, then you will not be able to advocate for your client."
