Where'd they get CAT scan from?... I mean, did they test it on cats? Or does the machine sort of look like a cat?

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

If you're going through hell/keep on going/don't slow down/keep your fear from showing/you might be gone/'fore the devil even knows you're there

I hope your situation works out okay, Aims. Almost don't know what to say. The way you're telling it, that prof sure seems like an asshole to me and that would be reason to appeal it.

Honestly? I'd let it go. I'm not sure what an appeal would be based on. (Other than compassion, and that's not nothing.) It sucks that's she's being a hardass about it, but, kind of the breaks.

And end of the day, you'll still be coming out with a far above average record. Assuming your next step isn't Harvard Law, this isn't going to make a difference.

Actually letting it go, emotionally, will be harder said than done. But I suspect it's your best course.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Damn, is there some sort of black market for pee?

Wait. Why do I remember this? Isn't there something about ita getting pee thrown at (not ON) her in an alley? Possibly while visiting the Angel set?

(Seriously? WHY DO I REMEMBER THAT.)

oh joy! Oh Rapture ! I have a brain!

I feel slightly bad - I just yelled at the delivery guy for banging on my door so hard. He says people haven't heard him, but that is why I have a door bell

And then Ortus came and said "It's Ortin' time" and they all Orted off into the sunset

most people are deficient in Vit D

Actually I was just reading a few days ago about a large scale survey which debunked this - lemme dredge up that link because I was really surprised.

Eta here it is - new vitamin D reccomendations from the IOM show most Americans and Canadians are getting enough: [link]

You were a wrong baby who grew up wrong. The wrong kind of wrong. It's better you hear it from a friend.

(Seriously? WHY DO I REMEMBER THAT.)

I recall it being COMM'd. (Not POMM'd, thankfully.)

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

There is a black market for pee, but it's for drug-free pee, not over-vitamined pee.

The night before an organic chemistry test, I came down with something that included a 104-degree fever. I staggered into student health the minute it opened and they prescribed a very expensive antibiotic, gave me a note for the professor and told me to go to bed. As soon as I could, I went to the professor, explained what happened and asked to drop the class, since I didn't see how I could make up the work in everything. (The evil illness went on to include an ear infection and then an eye infection.) At that time, you could drop a class before a certain point, but the professor had the option of giving you withdrawal while passing or withdrawal while failing. The first went away; the second acted like an F on your GPA. The professor said, "Well, you didn't do well on the first test, so you probably would have failed the test you missed" and gave me the latter.

This is one reason why I became a journalist instead of a doctor.

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

The professor said, "Well, you didn't do well on the first test, so you probably would have failed the test you missed" and gave me the latter.

Jesus, what a prick.

I have expensive pee as well. It never occurred to me that different vitamin pills could be absorbed differently. I suppose I should mess with some chewables and see if it makes a difference. I definitely need to supplement. I hate most seafood so I take fish oil capsules. And I don't get quite as many fruits and veggies as I should (or as diverse a selection as I should).

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

Why do I remember this? Isn't there something about ita getting pee thrown at (not ON) her in an alley? Possibly while visiting the Angel set?

Ha! I missed it by a day. There had been pee throwing the night before I showed up. Poor Tim.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

quester, that is totally sucky. I'm so sorry. I hope something pops up for you later this week.

WS, how are you, and is DCJ home yet?

Smonster, stay the (*&%*&%^*& home from work until the PI clears up. Adding stress to the mix is gonna make healing even slower and more miserable. Plus cranky time=less effective teacher/leader.

Last time the steroids made me more perky than cranky, so I'm hoping that's the case again. And unless I can get this as worker's comp, I haven't earned enough sick days. I've earned two, and may have used one today. So it's back to work tomorrow, and try like hell not to scratch.

What WindSparrow said about your friend and our discussion, DJ. She really is gorgeous and I'm glad she's getting work.

About that whole "plus sizes were fashionable in the 50s," I even call bullshit on that. B/c I've tried to shop vintage, and holee shit. I wear a current 12, which is more like a 20 back then, and good fucking luck finding those. It wasn't plus-sized as much as it was "soft" and not athletic. Also? Girdles. IJS.

Love is stronger than death and harder than sorrow. Those who practice it are fierce like the light of stars traveling eons to pierce the night.

WS, how are you, and is DCJ home yet?

I'm home sick today, with tonsil misery for which I have been given amoxicillin. I have tomorrow off already, which is good because I want to laze around in bed for another day. I also am dreaming of being able to eat crunchy food again. Seriously, I had a dream about crispy, thin crust pizza. Sammie has been very snuggly with me - which is lovely and kind of makes me wish I didn't have to be sick to get Sammie snuggles.

Daniel got home safely yesterday evening. His car has water pump issues, so it was good that he could use my car today. He dropped me off at the clinic on his way to work. I took a cab home. He hasn't gotten back yet today, but he often does not get home until 9 or 10pm.
