Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

Bob's learned to live with tragedy, but he knows that this tragedy is one that won't ever leave him or get better.

How awful!

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Oh no, Jilli!

"There are few hours in life more agreeable than the hour dedicated to the ceremony known as afternoon tea."

Jilli, that sucks! I hope that the clean up isn't too terrible. Are you feeling any better?

sj, I'm feeling almost back to my usual self. I go see my doctor tomorrow for more blood draws (testing for some more stuff), and another B12 cocktail shot.

... Oh wait, I didn't tell you guys about part of my excitement with doctors. Y'know how I've been more sickly than normal this past year or so, and get tired really easily? My awesomecakes doctor decided to run some tests, and it turns out I have Epstein-Barr virus and chronic Lyme disease. Which explains the constant tired and vaguely sickly. Many rounds of antibiotics and vitamin cocktails are in my future.

Ah, the dulcet tones of Pete and the shop-vac coming from the basement. The cats are Not Amused.

So you have more reason to be attractively wan and gothy.

True! But I still don't get any laudanum. I am disappointed.

Everyone I know is trying to figure out how the HELL I got bitten by a tick, because I'm not exactly known for frolicking through grassy fields.

Vampire ticks!

Vampire ticks!

But I have no other signs of vampirism, dammit. I want pointy teeth and the ability to control people with my mind!

You've already got Clovis for the pointy teeth and mind control.

this mess was yours / now your mess is mine

Oh, Jilli, yikes! But since you have a diagnosis, it sounds like you have a treatment plan, yes? Which is definitely good.

...Which makes what I was about to post seem kind of silly, but I still need to ask it, because it's reduced me to tears yet again:

What can/ought I be doing to get over a lingering cold? (It's either the same cold that started in October, went away about 95% and then came back 2 weeks ago, or it's possibly a new cold. Either way, it sucks.)

I know all the obvious: fluids, rest, treat the symptoms as best I can. But -- is there ANYTHING else? Anything that would prop up my shantytown of an immune system? Like...supplements/vitamins/whatever? I am just so goddamn tired of feeling this shitty.
