Angel: I appreciate you guys looking out for Connor all summer. It's just—he's confused. He needs time. That's all. Fred: Right. Time, and some corporal punishment with a large heavy mallet. Not that I'm bitter.

Spike's Bitches 46: Don't I get a cookie?

[NAFDA] Spike-centric discussion. Lusty, lewd (only occasionally crude), risqué (and frisqué), bawdy (Oh, lawdy!), flirty ('cuz we're purty), raunchy talk inside. Caveat lector.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Sheesh. Poor guy.

I have to get the driveway shoveled. I have to. It has to be done today, while the temperatures are not so horrible. Tomorrow and Monday the high is supposed to be 0. Farenheit, not centigrade. This morning, during a lull in the storm, I shoveled the sidewalk, and then it started snowing again. Worse, the wind kicked up. I don't know how much of what I'm dealing with now is new snow, and how much is snow that somebody else already shoveled out of their own yard which has blown over here. So in addition to shoveling the sidewalk again just now, I managed to do all of three feet of the driveway before needing to take a break. Insert cusswords here. I'm taking a water and potato chips break now. Then I have to go back out there.

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

Stay warm, Windsparrow.

I've finally gotten out of my pjs and gotten productive. Fighting depression and overwhelm. It's cold and rainy here.

Ok, I'm better now. Mostly. Nothing so cold it's stinging or burning, and I feel a lot more calm. Daniel called, he asked me to find him a hotel room near where he works, so he doesn't have to try to drive even as far as his sister's place. And he said to call around and see if I can find someone to plow. Damn, it feels like giving up.

No sweetie, that`s a lot of work for anyone. Hiring it out isn`t giving up, it`s getting help for your safety. Someone has the equipment and needs the cash. You`ll be helping them out too. I know it`s tough to have Daniel stranded apart from you, but safety first in this. And get yourself warmed up!

I wish I could just go somewhere to get flensed but none of the whaling ships near me take Medicare.

What Liese said. It's hard work! Take care of yourself.

Dear lord, WS. It's not giving up to get help when you need it, and it sounds like you certainly need it.

I'm chatting on fb with one of my best friends from Moldova, who I lost touch with years ago. She was 15 when I left, now she's married and has a son. Lord.

eta Ahhh, bilingual chat sessions. Brain-twisty fun.

You should know I'm a big deal in the Resistance.

Every year I buy my nephews t-shirts from Greeko's Sandals in Hermosa Beach. It's been there since 1969 and sells incense and posters (and sandals of course). But now I live in Garden Grove and I don't want to drive all the way out there so just on the off chance they have a web store I did a google search to see and was delighted to find they do! Then I clicked through. Damn hippies! Get with the 21st century; I want to give you my money but I'm too lazy to drive down... hmm.

That is extremely cool.

Thanks for the encouraging words, all. I now have supper cooking, and am wrapped in a nice warm shawl. Also, I have called and left a message for the guy who plowed a couple times for us last year. I don't much care for him because he can't seem to listen effectively to me, but there is no one else advertising themselves for plowing in the local paper's classifieds. Oh well. He will get the job done, and will only grouse a little bit that I have to pay by check rather than by cash. (It's not like I could get to the bank today.)

I had one of those weird ideas in my head that I had to clear the driveway so that Daniel could come home.... He's not. It's much safer, found him a hotel room that wasn't hideously spendy, and to be honest, I'm still worried about the prospects of him trying to drive home tomorrow. But still, weird feeling, completely irrational.
