You know, I've saved lives. Dozens. Maybe hundreds. I reattached a girl's leg. Her whole leg. She named her hamster after me. I got a hamster. He drops a box of money, he gets a town.

Sir, it's not an offence to let your cat eat your bacon. Okay? And we don't arrest cats, I'm very sorry.

I am not a huge comic book geek. But apparently, Almost everyone hates Wonder Woman's new costume

I think it's OK.

Also, kinda' a clever way of doing a reboot - I read elsewhere the gods changed the timeline!

(Is that a spoiler? It's the basic premise of the reboot.)

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

I just spun around in a circle as we were walking, to make a Wonder Woman reference, and my mother totally got it. Good one, mom.

So much hipper than my mother.

I bumped into one of my former students at lunch. That makes me sad. I miss having students.

Sometimes I trip on how happy we could be.

So much hipper than my mother.

If a 30-year-old reference is hip! (I made my mother watch the show with me...)

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Yeah, I don't understand what's so terrible about it. It looks cool to me.

It's a TV reference. I'd have to do something to conjure up images from...John Le Carre or summat for my mother. She's not the slightest bit hip. And even then? She'd wonder why I'd want to make a reference, because that's silly.

My mother's spleen has nothing but spleen in it. She's spleniful.

"I keep to a strict diet of ill-advised enthusiasm and heartfelt regret." Leigh Bardugo

Because the black leggings are totally something Lindsey Lohan would support and any time you can connect Wonder Woman to Lilo, that's not a good thing.

Hate it.

Almost everyone hates Wonder Woman's new costume

The Comics Alliance crew seemed okay with it (and are strongly in favor of giving her some damn pants). But reviewing her costume changes over the years probably helped: [link]

IT'S ENTIRELY WRONG. YOU TWO ARE BOTH WRONG.

There's just...nothing special about it. The 90s called and it wants its jacket back. Skinny jeans? Really? Spurs? Rollerblade wrist protectors?

There's no icon there.

I know she'd been running around in a metal swimsuit, but at least it stood out. Deck her out in Hoplite armour. Give her something that looks like Donna Troy wouldn't wear it. Or some random Marvel heroine.

Speaking of... clothes, today in downtown Evanston I saw a woman of college age wearing what looked like a men's flannel shirt with no pants - just pantyhose underneath.

Huh.

a men's flannel shirt with no pants - just pantyhose underneath.

If it's cool enough for flannel, it's cool enough for pants or at least a skirt. [/curmudgeon]
