Punishingly Intricate

Happy birthday, Hec!

Congratulations, Jessica!!! Happy news!!!!

We were up in Philly this weekend and ate at a fancy Israeli restaurant owned by friends of our friends. Delicious! I thought of Nilly! (and we got tons of extras because friends with the chef. Including a pitcher of lemonade with muddled mint and bourbon and some Israeli liquour I have to look up. SO GOOD!)

eta Looked it up and there wasn't another liquor in there. It was verbena.

"Faded like the lilac, he thought."

Happy birthdays!

I am getting ready to hit the road this afternoon. I feel like there should be a million things to do, but it's not actually that bad. I do have to get some numbers together before I leave and I wish I'd managed to finish up the office, but oh well.

Trying to get some miles under our belt tonight so we can get the dog kenneled and us into the festival by Wednesday early. The band that came out to us and wrote a song about our kids is performing Wednesday night, but all the individual members play starting at 1 that day. So our goal is to get there to see them. But the kennel is new to us, so if we don't like it, one of us will haul over to Indianapolis to put him in our regular kennel there.

I am just hoping I'm healthy enough to do this. The festival is wearing enough on a perfectly fit body. But my mental health really needs me to have some time with crazy punked out lefty green anarchist Christians. So I am willing to put up with quite a lot to make it there.

"Look, son, if it's good enough for Shirley Bassey, it's good enough for you."

Thank you all for birthday wishes.

May it bring you splendiferous Zeppelin escapades!

Dag, that would be the best. Maybe next year when I turn 50.
