"What kind of magical sunshine and lollipop world do you live in? Because you need to be medicated."-SFist

...so, Netherlands?

You know it. Or, as my aunt calls them: Les beaux gabarits.

ETA: roughly translated, the "beautiful builds"

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

...so, Netherlands?

Maybe Argentina.

Poor old England. But apparently it was OK that they were put out of their misery.

For once I'm actually rooting for the Germans. As with France in 1998, it's a a wonderfully multi-kulti team, and it's a really good advertisement for the New Young Germany. So as long as blokes called Ozil and Boateng and Gomez and Podolski keep playing well it's fine by me.

(Side note: B. and his best friend L., who is also half British, stood up for the German and the British national anthems, but were rooting for Germany throughout).

Days shrink and grow cold, sunlight through leaves is my song. Winter is long.

Nilly!

I feel like "you know how much I love watching you post, but I've got my students' 500th exam to grade, my apartment to pack, my husband to cook chicken-soup to and grading to frame for it; I'm swamped."

Get some rest. If you haven't got your health, you haven't got anything.

The Lily and Matilda lovefest is a marvelous thing. Thank the picture-takers and storytellers for sharing it with the rest of us!

And also? Happiest of Birthdays, JZ!
