Am reminded why I could not live here. Called the pool a couple days ago to get hours, especially saturday ones. City pools have no online presence to speak of, so you pretty much gotta call. Anyway, go at appointed time. It's closed. It remains closed. Answering machine(!) does not give hours. Figure someone just didn't want to show up for shift.

There's a reason this place is called the land of manana, and that's a reason I can't live here.

I was awakened today by my son searching me out for hugs. It was after 7 am. That's a double win! Am now drinking yummy Peets coffee... with soy creamer. Qualified win there, but I'm getting used to the new flavor.

Matilda is in a mild tizzy this morning picking out her dress for Lily's arrival.

She popped up in bed this morning and announced to me: "Nothing happened! No windows are broke. The police are going to catch the bad guys who broke the window. They stole my brother's DS. If the police shoot them, I can kick them. Then poop on them."

So apparently I am the parent of Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog.

I am sad for Burrell's soy and sarameg's lack of swimming.

I am quite jealous of the Plei/Paul/Lily visit. I would going to try to come up to the Bay Area this weekend as well, only dang jury duty got in the way. Give them hugs for me.

I have swept the whole house, done dishes, wiped woodwork, furminated Frankie and trimmed his claws, and cleaned the toilet, sink, and bathroom mirror. Oh, and was offered food and prayed with. I'm sure they were sceptical of my polyfaith approach to god, but they were nice about it. I told them to pass on the non-perishables to someone in need.

Now I need to eat lunch and head out to do errands. Lunch will involve a spinach and sungold salad from my garden, some form of protein, and most likely a popsicle.

Pretty good game this morning, with the score really not testifying to the strength of the South Korean side. I forgot how much the dynamics change in the knockout rounds. And I have to remember to add time for extra time to my dvr.

megan, so glad you said that! I set my dvr for the US match but didn't add extra time.

furminated Frankie

Ugh, I have to furminate the hound. The dalmatian has such a lovely flat coat, usually one pass with the furminator is all she needs (and it removes very little at that).

When I furminate Kato, I can make another dog. Particularly when I brush his back legs up by his rump (haunches?) -- he has all the fur in the world there. I think he is the secret behind hairless cats -- he has all their fur.

We have no furminating needs at Chez Zmayhem.

However, no amount of mopping will make our kitchen floor look better.

You know what looks good, though? The Aurora Australis from outer space.

What is a furminator? And does it work on cats?
