This weekend: seeing the Ple Fam and the Matilda and Lilly Show. Taking them to the Mission with P-Cow.
Hurrah! So are we taking the kids into Good Vibrations?
Have you gone to Grocery Outlet in Berkeley? Holy shit, that's a bargain center.
I have not! I do like bargains. I think there's one of those in Oakland too; I pass it all the time on Broadway. But I, too, was wary. Perhaps I will give it a looksee.

After all, only Euclid has looked on beauty bare.
it doesn't bother me to think of Anne Frank as a sexual being
For me, that's different from describing it, with people she probably didn't have it with. But I have a huge RPsex squick. I am prudish that way.
Do you read other books about the fictionalized lives of famous people? OK, maybe you don't, but there are lots of those published every year that nobody gets too upset about
I don't, really--though mostly because that's not my thing, admittedly. But I do read some autobiographies--I figure if someone's going to fictionalize it, might as well be the person who did it. I think for me, there's a tangled up bunch of issues--that she was young and might not be cool with this, that she wrote her own story and this is changing it, that she's recent enough that people remember the time (if not necessarily her exactly), etc. I mean...writing about a real person from the 1200s? Queen Eleanor or something? Somehow it being so long ago, and the actual details so shrouded doesn't ping me so. Someone who wrote about themselves but was an adult, or maybe wouldn't so much mind if you made up a story about them having sex? I'm picturing like, Richard Feynman. I've read his writings about himself, and I get the impression he was a wild guy, sometimes a player. If you wrote it about the right period of his life, would he probably have been amused about a story of him hooking up with some chick? Maybe so. (A story of him hooking up with Oppenheimer? Maybe not.) So somehow all that together makes me kinda go "Um, ew?" And more so that it's being published--if Plei wanted to write Anne Frank slash fic and post it on the internet, that wouldn't really squick me at all.
But that's just me and my brain.
Well I did get out of my jammies and come into the office like a responsible working adult.
And I made sure the contracts for the EDMS were signed by my CEO and then scanned and sent to the vendor.
So now I am allowed to go back on Twitter and keep posting my favorite "Firefly" quotes, right?
(I have only watched the pilot now three times - I kept putting it on before bed and falling asleep during the last 20 minutes. So I finally watched those this morning. One episode in and I am filled with the love.)
And now I think the Miracleborns gave Em her middle name becuase they love Adam Baldwin so much.
Dumbest thing you've ever done to get laid
Oh, lawd. I have not done things quite that dumb, but I will not hate. For I have done some dumb things.
OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Seriously???!!!!
Emeline and Owen are most amusing.
Need something to do at 6:17 am EDT tomorrow morning?
Moon Illusion to Supersize Saturday Lunar Eclipse
A partial lunar eclipse set to occur early Saturday should look particularly stunning to observers in parts of North America thanks to an optical illusion that will make the moon look bigger than normal.
The moon will pass through part of Earth's shadow, temporarily becoming dark, starting at 6:17 a.m. EDT (1017 GMT) Saturday morning. That cosmic line-up coincides with the full moon of June and a so-called "moon illusion" that, weather permitting, should offer quite a show, according to a NASA announcement.
For observers in the central and western United States, the lunar eclipse will occur while the moon is still close to the horizon. The partial eclipse begins after the moon has set for observers in the eastern United States.
