Court: 15 cats in a car is too risky
SIOUX FALLS, S.D. -- The South Dakota Supreme Court has ruled that a police officer acted correctly when he seized 15 cats from a woman who was driving with the animals running free inside her car.
In a 3-2 decision Thursday, the justices ruled that the felines were a distraction and interfered with driver Patricia Edwards' ability to see where she was going.
Chief Justice David Gilbertson said Edwards nearly backed into patrol car at a convenience store parking lot in Pierre, S.D., because of the moggies in her back window.
The court said Edwards and her cats presented a significant risk to the public.
Edwards was appealing a lower court ruling that transferred ownership of the cats to a humane society for adoption.
God, one lose cat in a car is too many. The one time I tried it (with a passenger to help with the cat), kitty decided the one place she had to be was on the floor by my feet and the gas and brake pedals... so we made kitty ride in a pillow case (with the case rolled up an her head sticking out).

mac and I are headed to the burbs to stay with friends tonight and then tomorrow we are all going to a pick your own fruit and veggie farm. YAY! I will have to really monitor how much we pick as we only have the 2 weeks left.
Boy, the ref in the Brazil/Portugal game is card-happy. I'd really like Portugal to get a lucky win and take Brazil out of the path for the U.S.

We're going up to Philly tomorrow for a little trip out of town! Staying at a hotel and going to the Mutter Museum (where I've shockingly never been) and hanging out with some friends of Bob's. We're going to an Israeli restaurant owned by a friend of theirs.
I think I'll have to work some on Sunday if I can get my rassenfrassen laptop from my boss.
I want Brazil to win the whole thing!!! That means flatscreen tv for us since they are Bob's pick in the pool we're in.
