Jayne: Captain, can you stop her from bein' cheerful, please? Mal: I don't believe there is a power in the 'verse that can stop Kaylee from being cheerful. Sometimes you just wanna duct tape her mouth and dump her in the hold for a month.

"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

I just remembered my parents are coming in to town this weekend. I am itching to leave work early so I can go home and clean.

Imma back ita up that tea lattes are totally delicious. And the bomb. And I get my mint tea latte with chocolate powder (and yes milk) instead of vanilla. Delicious.

Whoa on Wimbledon.

Friends don't let friends read "Atlas Shrugged"

I know cricket's nothing to any of the sports that require exertion - the college cricket team I used to hang out with usually didn't break a sweat. At least not while playing cricket. It does imply, however, that anyone used to cricket has the patience to sit through a multi-day game of some sort. The players? MEN OF IRON

"We're all stories, in the end. Just make it a good one, eh?"

Yeah, cricket can be really quite relaxed. Much easier to watch than its reputation would suggest, too. Mainly on account of how you can bring a picnic and wine.

hip deep in pie

The sad news is that the Guardian blogger is off tomorrow and someone else will be doing the liveblog instead. They have quite an act to follow.

Good God, the British Navy are here. (To celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Cdn Navy.) The bars will not be safe.

Because books.

All the excitement has gone out of my day now that they're not playing anymore.

I miss the Guardian guy already.

Well not canonically, no, but this is transformative fiction.

It does imply, however, that anyone used to cricket has the patience to sit through a multi-day game of some sort

Difference is, though, that this could have ended any time. With cricket, for a lot of it, you know it's not going to end yet, so you only have so much tension.

Even a one day game--you're rooting for it to go one way or another, but you can tick off how close you are to the end. These guys? Always close to the end. Just, you know, not.

I miss the Guardian guy already.

Me too.

I don't begrudge him his rest, except how I totally do. Xan Brooks, my new fake boyfriend. It's a guy, right?

eta: Sheeit, msbelle, that's huge. Much more than twice what I had to pay either time I was on it.

What else besides ramen can you scoop? YOU CAN SCOOP THIS WORLD FROM DARKNESS!

Xan Brooks, my new fake boyfriend. It's a guy, right?

Yep.
