I guess there was an earthquake that was felt in S. Ontario and even NYC?
As far south as Cincinnati. Seriously.

Dear god, can't the tennis players agree to come back tomorrow or something?? That's insane!!
Earthquake in new York is creepy, but better than one where I am, is my feeling.
They're already on their second day, meara.
Obama fired McChrystal.
Happy birthday, Steph!
Aaaand from way back:
Does anyone here happen to know of some miraculous method of getting rid of the the flipping dark circles under your eyes?
zusia, I've had good luck with applying vitamin K cream at night. (You can find it at most health food & vitamin stores.) Also, the UK cosmetic brand Boots (available at Target in the USA) makes a concealer called "Radiant Glow" which is pretty good at toning down dark circles. (It's a duplicate for YSL's Touch Eclat concealer, which is awesome, but is also $40 a tube.)
(What? I know makeup. My giant package of Aromaleigh eye shadow that I won for writing descriptions for the new line will be arriving ANY DAY NOW. Then I will never run out of Apocalypse Pansy.)
As far south as Cincinnati. Seriously.
Man! If there's ever a big one on this coast the whole thing is going to shake apart.

Can't say I'm surprised.
46-46.
I just ordered three shirts and two pairs of pants for $93 total. Not too bad!
From the Guardian liveblog
The umpire climbs down from his chair and starts mildly slapping the net cord with his right hand. No one knows why. John Isner winds up for a backhand and misses the ball entirely. No one knows why.
What's going on here? Once, long ago, I think that this was a tennis match. I believe it was part of a wider tennis tournament, somewhere in south-west London, and the winner of this match would then go on to face the winner of another match and, if he won that, the winner of another match. And so on until he reached the final and, fingers crossed, he won the title.
That, at least, is what this spectacle on Court 18 used to be; what it started out as. It's not that anymore and hasn't been for a few hours now. I'm not quite sure what it is, but it is long and it's horrifying and it's very long to boot. Is it death? I think it might be death.
