"This bar smells like kerosene and stripper tears."

Has there ever been a supervillian called The Master of Sock-puppets or somesuch? If not, there should be.

Yes, but he went by a different name.

Nicely done!

Now tagless for your comfort.

Awesome, feminist, pragmatic mom.

Because books.

At mac's age, I'm not sure he'd even appreciate the, uh, goods.

Also, what Cash said.

"I remember when they eventually introduced that drug kingpin who murdered people and smuggled drugs inside snakes and I was like 'Finally. A normal person.'” —RahvinDragand

One of the things about the alleged nonexistence of bi men is that for ones in a relationship with a woman (the majority, in my experience) there's not really much upside to publicly declaring themselves. Such a revelation exposes them to just about as much prejudice from bigots as being openly gay, can hamstring their future attempts to date women, and the gay community isn't very welcoming to them.

"It didn't taste good. It tasted soooo horrible. It tasted like....a vodka martini." - Matilda

I suspect that one factor in the perception that "bi is just a phase" is that most people, of whatever sexual inclination, tend to settle down with one partner as they get older. Monogamy doesn't mean one has made one's final choice, but it can seem that way. I've known several men who had a number of male partners who've married women, in part because they wanted families. I wonder if widespread acceptance of same-sex marriage and adoption might eventually change the overall dynamics.

I'm terrifically busy with my ennui.

The NYTimes article about the French soccer team is just surreal.

[link]

The coach who chooses players according to the Zodiac. The head-butting. The elbowing. The handballing. Underage hookers!

Le Parisien, the French newspaper, wrote scathingly: “To have the worst soccer team at the World Cup was almost unbearable. To also have the most stupid is intolerable.”

I'm wearing my Jeni's Splendid Ice Cream t-shirt today. I hate to admit it but Jeni's may be better than Graeters.
