They would have offered to bring Tim Horton's for everyone.

Even the one that was part killer whale!

I actually have a mcdonald's toy of one of the mascots bobsledding that we got when we went to the olympics. It's on my desk at work.

“Not dead yet!”

...lucky you.

I know... I feel sort of warm and squooshy inside.

Sara, he calls both of us by first name. I've been trying to train him out of it but whatever.

Poor little bug.

I can't believe he was trying to crawl into Grace's crib. He has been throwing Fox, books, water bottles and Danny Bear in there for her for days now.

I’d be lying if I didn’t say that I miss them all tonight…

Are the London mascots supposed to be a riff on the London Eye or something? Either way, yikes.

They would have offered to bring Tim Horton's for everyone.

M & I are seriously discussing applying to open a Timmy's franchise here in SF. We would try to appeal to the people who prefer not to spend 10 minutes waiting for their drip coffee cf Blue Bottle), and the people who love doughnuts that are called Timbits.

You totally need to tell about their adjustment. So curious.

My parents weren't wedded to the mom/dad thing, so had no problem with me calling them by name. I think the shock was when I stopped. Peer pressure, likely. My younger brother never called them by name.

The London mascots are like the cheap bad-orthodontia cousins of the Yo Gabba Gabba character, Muno, but without the irony.

I had a hard time buying a rubber Muno for my neph. It's just WRONG.

Noah's really happy and really attention-getty and really sad too. He likes Grace. He likes sharing things with her by giving them to her. Today, before bathtime, both of them were coloring on the same sheet of paper and Grace was playing with the crayons well after he bathed.

But he's also dialed up to 11 these days and very clingy. And, because there is a nurse also in the house, he's very much performing which is not ideal. Today's nurse was great and really loving with him.

When he woke up this morning, he came into our bed and said, "I want to go to Grace's Place" which is what he called the care facility. I'm waiting for him to ask when she is leaving.

Not so nice is that I'm about to ruin a Friday morning for a bunch of people because of a series of unfortunate events and an upset foreign government. - shrift

Kat, I can't tell you how much it tickles me to know that both of your beautiful children are at home, and being perfectly typical toddlers. There is no way on earth you fail at being a mom. You and K, and everyone else involved in loving and caring for those two, are what every child SHOULD have for family.

Barb, I'm not sure whether to laugh or be appalled. Way to embrace the Olympic spirit, funny-looking mascots!

We won’t stop until everyone is gay.

What Maria said.

Actually, if you read the description of those mascots, I think they way OVERthought them. They're like super bad tattoos, trying to symbolize everything at once and losing all coherence and art in the process.
